Has anyone else killed Caesar yet? With their own gun?

lmao

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I just went in guns blazing and wiped him out entirely. I didn't really see any other way, because my companion refused to go with me peacefully and I didn't want to leave him behind. I only got one quest failure (I think it said "Et Tumor, Brute?") so does this mean there aren't too many consequences to resolving his fate the violent way?

It reminded me a lot of taking down Metzger. Pretty cool.

House mentioned that he didn't want you to kill him though I haven't gotten far enough to know why. The NCR will probably love you for it.

Well, you do completely destroy any chance of cooperating with the Legion, don't you? I'm sure there'd be more quests if you spent more time trying to get friendly with them.

It appears that killing Caesar is part of Boone's questline, so I followed it through. I was never planning on supporting the Legion anyway, or doing any quests for them. After I was done Boone said that it wouldn't change anything and that they'd replace him anyway, so I guess that's that.

I tried just now, but it's almost impossible. You can't have companions in the tent, and they take away most weapons except the really light ones. Plus, for some reason, everyone in the tent can still see me despite using a stealthboy and having 90 in sneak.

I thought the same. I'll guess the only real way to do it is with a high skilled unarmed character.

I brought a bunch of frag grenades/mines with me and reverse pick pocketed them. Instance kills, even on very hard. You can get about 3 placed before they go off. You can also drop a bunch of land mines around the tent and soon as the rest of them go aggressive they will walk over them.

If you have a high sneak or a stealth boy, you can also recover all of your gear by pick pocketing the key to the footlocker at the entrance gate.

If you want to be cheap, bring up your pipboy the moment you zone in and drop all of the weapons you want to use. Once the guy initiates dialogue and disarms you, just pick the weapons you dropped back up.

You can't have companions in the tent?

Here's how my progression went:

1. Killed everyone in Cottonwood Cove
2. Took the raft to The Fort
3. Killed everyone outside the Fort
4. Killed everyone inside the Fort, but outside Caesar's tent
5. Killed everyone in Caesar's tent

No one searched me and stole my items, and my companion could enter Caesar's tent, but I didn't stay because it was lethal in like 5 seconds. I guzzled my chems, walked in, they went into attack mode, I picked one off in VATS, and then left immediately. They all followed me outside of the tent and I ran to get them away from Boone (who was going down like a sack of potatoes against their Ballistic Fists) and basically continued to run while shooting like a maniac, with Boone sniping from a distance.

^ Oh, you just went in guns blazing. I was talking about entering peacefully but then making the rest aggressive (in my case, by freeing Benny).

If you have a high sneak or a stealth boy, you can also recover all of your gear by pick pocketing the key to the footlocker at the entrance gate.

I did that, but everyone went aggro after I opened the locker. Seriously, it's like everyone has a Gem of True Seeing or something that lets them see through the stealthboy.

Maybe try it at night... if it's actually bugged and they keep seeing you, I'd try the pipboy/weapon drop trick to make up for it.

They hated me, so I put on Legion faction armor. It allows you to go up to Caesar's tent without issues. The Praetoreans recognize you though. So I just rushed in, popped one in the dog, then empty the rest of Maria into his head (Kamikaze + Fast Shot + high agility + some perks = I could fire like 10 shots in one VATS use). Then I just ran to the exit, ignoring everything they threw at me (they don't follow you when you take the boat back to Cottonsomething).

Obviously didn't have time to loot him, but it was a nice RP assassination moment :-)

I went into Caesar's tent after clearing out the rest of the fort, fired ARCHIMEDES II on myself while the praetorian guard were up in my face and tokk'em all out

Just enter if you're hostile with them and leave right away.
Most of them use ballistic fists (or all) so just run backward while spamming :)
Taking companions with you probably isn't a wise choice if you want them to come out alive either.

I can't stress enough how difficult it was to finish off Caesar and his Praetorian Guards in his tent on hardcore mode and hard difficulty...I had gone there with all my best weapons, but a single hit of their ballistic fists takes away half your HP! I ended up being addicted to almost every single drug, using about 5 turbos for the tent alone, and suffering from that 'fixer' colour flash thing during the fight and immensely sick from super stimpaks.

It was all a bit comical, running around; jumping on tables and Caesar's bed as they chased me in circles.

Was a bit disappointed that his death has little to no consequence on the game world. Also, amidst the corpses I couldn't find Vulpes'...did he run away or disappear or something? Never saw him again.

I just went in with a roid rage and killed them all with my iron fist (ballistic fist). Took a couple of tries as I did this on hard difficulty and at level 18 but around the 7th time I ended up killing him and all his pretorean guards.

I tried that so many times. At most I got Ceasar and 2 more, but then got stomped. He also had taken my goddamn Platinum Chip, and refused to let me leave before I blew up some stuff in a bunker under the Fort.

So I reluctantly had to follow his orders and go down to the shed where the bunkers entrance was - only for the retards to hand me back all my weapons just as I was to enter. A quick U-turn ensued and suddenly the Legion was splattered all around their fort.

I then went up to the tent and dealt with the Ceasar and Pals.

The quest is still stuck in my PIP-boy, though. But that is one way to get him.

I used a LMG with AP ammo - about 600 rounds. No drugs and healing involved, only Veronica with Pushy as support. (Hardcore + Very hard). I had to aim for the heads, though.

Caesar went down at first - might have been because of his lousy armor. Speech +5 isn´t helpful in battle. *scnr*

Used stealth boy + silenced sniper riffle by PC with high sneak; beter criticals, finese and NCR 1st recon beret. Got bastard dead after 1st shot with noboody even noticing. Boone congratulated me even if the legion was not broken. :D
The last thing he didn't have seen indeed.
P.S. played on normal and hardcore.

I walked in with that Minigun you get from that Devils Throat (?) location, on hard, one clip later I walked out dressed as Ceaser.

I could own his sorry ass without breaking a sweat if I wanted to. I'm in Remnants armor with Mercy with incendiary grenades on that thing. I'll get around to it one of these days. xD
