Well the year ain't over yet. Still three more months to go.
  2. The Dutch Ghost

Fallout TV show coming 2024, featuring Vault 33 in Los Angeles

Well the Pip Boy was a Robco creation, not a Vault Tec one.

I get you. It is easier to classify older games as clearly being RPGs than these modern day 'mutts' that are a hybrid of action games together with stat elements. Even Fallout New Vegas which I really like is also one of these mutts. A lot of modern day games that have the tag RPG are better...

I think @R.Graves that this is how game studios have sold the genre to newcomers. Blame also lies with game publishers and game journalists.
  5. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

Under that definition the term RPG would have absolutely no meaning.
  6. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

The term RPG has been rather abused and become blurred over the years. I would probably classify Front Mission 3 as JSRPG though I don't know if the player gets to decide how characters improve their skills and specializations next to customizing the Wanzers. Fallout 4 barely qualifies as a RPG...

Fallout TV show coming 2024, featuring Vault 33 in Los Angeles

I rather dislike how Vault Boy has become an mascot of everything within the Fallout setting when he was just suppose to be Vault Tec's mascot. Bethesda did not begin with it though, some of the concept art of FOBOS already showed that the designers wanted to overuse the character.

That is another joke someone made. They should start screeching any moment now. When I looked at this picture a couple of minutes ago my thoughts were "Why do I have the feeling that they are going to demand to speak to my manager?" I occasionally liked some of the Mass Effect 1 random world...
  9. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

Someone joked on the RPG codex that a player must have made a white male character. Then I ask "In what way.". Starfield clearly uses same elements as NMS and Elite Dangerous now that the 'on foot' expansion is released, but in many ways it is more limited. Some people who played the game...
  10. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

Not that related but I was talking on the RPGcodex about space themed RPGs just set in our solar system or just on a single other planet. Many years ago I collected the old Buck Rogers in the XXVc rpg modules after I had discovered the PC game/Sega game and rather liked the setting from what I...

Any advice on how to deal with spawning issues possibly caused by mods

Still no closer to finding the problem after disabling and re enabling mods, but I have made a curious discovery; the NPC around which my topic revolves at some point spawns where he is suppose to be and shows standard NPC behavior like walking around, leaning against a wall and fence, etc. On...

    >difference is that I'm not embarassed about it, I blame my autism. :ugly: ) The joys of Autism. In my case it often puts me under a looking glass, judging me harshly for any flaw.

I still think LIfe of Brian is.
  14. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

I already wrote that I am sorry about it. snip personal bullshit. Even I sometimes talk out of my ass when I think I have something to tell Anyway sorry for going off topic. I thought there was somewhat of a comparison of people wasting their time on these repeatable but pointless quests such...
  15. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

Very probable. A confession; I wasted some time in the last thirteen years on trying out some X rated mods for FNV because I was bored and I could not find something better to spend my time on. I am still deeply ashamed of it. There will be people who feel this will be great part of their lives.
  16. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

It could be worse. Boss guy "You have carried out all the missions. Now build colonies throughout the galaxy and defend it from pirates." You are just ahead of me. Yep. I only have so much time left in my life. I am not going to waste a percentage of it on this.
  17. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

Sounds like a really annoying game experience. I am glad I passed on it after I was initially very curious about this game when I saw the first trailer years ago. Freedom is nice in a game but if that is all it offers with actually parts of interest being rare and I become bored with the...

That is not even an argument. And this was this type of reasoning was used on many decisions or opinions we would be in a world of trouble.
  19. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

Yeah people's understanding of ratings has become really messed up. Lower than an 8.5 and the game is basically 'dead on release' for a lot of gamers these days. A rating of 7 is honestly not bad. That does not mean that a game does not have some good points that make it worth checking out at...
  20. The Dutch Ghost

    Starfield

I find 7 a fair rating for what this game probably is. It is not a technological achievement and I don't think the content holds up compared to much better written games. To be honest, I don't think that its fans should make an issue about this in the future. Why should they be concerned if the...
