Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

I get why people do place the blame like they do, I just can't do that or agree with it. It's too many parts that can vary from situation to situation to feel like a consistent way to point out what's wrong with something. Cain's story about the simple line of code comes to mind. He's "in...

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

From what I've read and watched before, he's attributed with writing the central plot of the story, concepts for the casinos, and designing the Three Families. The characters of Benny, House, Vulpes Inculta, Ricky, Stella, Randall Clark's logs, Yes Man, Caesar (with contributions from Sawyer)...

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

While I agree, I do think Wild Wasteland does it pretty well and the fact it's optional is a good thing. For Fallout 1, I'd also argue that the TARDIS is the only kind of encounters like that in the first Fallout. Which these are essentially locked behind levels of Luck so it's not like everyone...

Fallout 1 or Fallout New Vegas?

It's fine if you don't like that sort of thing, but it's very common in games/video games to see this. Characters die in a world where there's a game mechanic that respawns people and it's even explained in the game how it came to work like this. But that important character must die! Enemies...

    Fallout renewed for another season

Yes that seems to be the approach/excuse. On PC there is a mod for it of course and it's probably more functional with more features than Bethesda could implement without making new exploits pop up somehow lmao. Yeah it probably has but what I'm getting at it is that as long as the cost of...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I'm not joking. That's just an anomaly of evolution in Skyrim.

    Fallout renewed for another season

I'm sure in Bethesda's, Zenimax's, and/or Microsoft's eyes that a game like Fallout 76 went from a rough but somewhat successful project into a very successful project over the years. They don't care that people do or don't like something in the game. They care that the cost of development and...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

You should definitely try out stealth archer. Super underrated!

This might not be the most blasphemous game anymore...

Well, the first game set the precedent and the armor was the late game armor to have. But I'd say there are many other reasons that are simultaneously plausible. - It's simple. The less you have to make of the work to get the cover art done and if it's just as or more efficient this way, why...

How Long Can Ghouls Live Without Water

Cannibalism is already a touchy subject, but I imagine eating radiated old-ass humans wouldn't help the taste. Try eating people BEFORE they turn to ghouls?

How Long Can Ghouls Live Without Water

Ghouls need water. Sometimes developers will make a quest for novelty or comedy without taking implications of it seriously (both Coffin Willie and FridgeKid). Willie does say, "Nothing more boring than bein' in a coffin for months." But as pointed out more than once already, passage of time is...

What's The Difference Between Hard Rock & Heavy Metal?

I remember when I first ever discussed the differences between rock and metal with someone who was far more in touch with the music scenes and I was laughing at the fact he said that nu metal was indeed just hard rock. I was into rock and metal more at that time than now but it was just silly...

New Vegas writers were told to dial back the Enclave

Yeah most people got it for free or played it during a free weekend. Or they just played it anyway. I wouldn't try to sell any Fallout fan on it unless they really liked all the worst aspects of Fallout 4. It has plenty more flaws due to the nature of it being a quasi-MMO and live-service game...

    EFAP on Fallout

Fallout 3 definitely gets an amount of attention via TTW that shouldn't be glossed over. Everything Rise is saying I've seen similar sentiment from players online. People say play TTW to play Fallout 3 almost every time Fallout 3 (on PC) gets brought up. And honestly, it's to the credit of...

Chris Avellone examines the Fallout TV Series

Huh, I already knew this actually but for some reason my mind sorted it into the Van Buren stuff that we never got to see in its full realization. Maybe the game was going to elaborate on that and that's why I thought that but when I had seen this video I ignored the implications it had for...

Chris Avellone examines the Fallout TV Series

He probably did genuinely like New Vegas. Todd also probably likes Daggerfall and Morrowind. But not for the same reasons the diehard fans of those games like them. I'm sure he enjoys Fallout 1 and 2 with legitimacy as well, but just like TES2 and 3 not for the reasons you do. I have no idea...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Yeah was pretty fun. Felt pretty much like a Souls game but with some more mainstream tendencies. I enjoyed it though. Ah, can't fault you on that. Most of the best games I've played are buggy as fuck but it's hard to fault anyone for bouncing off them for having their shit fucked up for bad code.
