Yes, you need to recruit him before finding V13. However, I think you can try to use the editor, look for the switch that says you found the geck and change it, recruit him and then change it back.

I'd suggest deleting the corrupt saves manually,reinstall, and try a good earlier save without the patch unless you want to start anew. Patching didn't help as there's usually a lot of incompatibility between versions. And yes, make sure it's killaps patch or RP. I would go for the RP.

Thanks. I have another possible bug I ran into earlier: after I visit Bunker 21, the car disappears from the game completely, even if left behind and entered the location on foot. Strangely enough, it can be used to leave but on the first encounter it vanishes.
