    thanks, but i'm failing my INT check. I see the v16, v12, v66 etc states which I think govern the relevant messages (Wounded, Severely Wounded, Almost Dead, etc) but I don't see the math governing determining what fractional amount of HP corresponds to what text blob.

    hmmm, any reason those flags and the reordered perks aren’t the default configuration? For most settings, I think first timers would prefer the Fallout 1 variant of the mechanics when there exists a differing Fallout 2 variant.
