1.3.3 patch and water chip time limit

First time out of the vault
Hi all,

I'm running Fallout 1 under Windows XP using VMWare on my MacBook. I applied the Team X 1.2 patch and then the applied the 1.3.3 patch. It is my understanding that this patch removes time limits placed on certain quests within the game (i.e. replacing the water chip at Vault 13). However, in the PipBoy menu the memo to replace the water chip is there and the days are counting down.

Is this normal, i.e. will nothing happen when it reaches 0 days, or did the patch not work? I would hate investing time building up my character and advancing through the game and suddenly having to start over because I didn't replace the water chip in time.

I think the patch only removes the time limit on the quests you get after you finish the water-chip quest (though I'm not sure).

1.2 and 1.3 patches have nothing to do with any of time limits. There is readme file in both, BTW. ;)

OK, in further research, I have determined the following...

1.) The official 1.1 patch removes the mutant attack time limit but not the water chip time limit.

2.) The semi-official Team X 1.2 patch includes all fixes and changes from the 1.1 patch.

3.) In order to use the Team X 1.3.3 patch, you have to have the 1.2 patch installed.

So, when you say that the 1.2 patch has nothing to do with time limits, if it incorporates the 1.1 patch does it not also remove the mutant attack time limit?

I went from 1.0 > 1.2 > 1.3.3, so from what I understand I will not have the mutant attack time limit. Is this correct?

BTW, Zoinker is right, there is no patch which removes the water chip time limit. I just bought more time from the Water Merchant at The Hub (100 days), and I will be making my way to Necropolis as soon as I level up a bit more to finally take care of the damn water chip quest (thanks GameFAQS ! )
