14mm Pistol range

The PRO files from Fallout 1 v1.0 has 14mm Pistol set to a range of 24, whereas the wikis and patched versions have the range set to 30.

Does anyone know what range it was "intended" to have? It's interesting to me that they'd bump range from 24 to 30 with a patch.

Probably 30, if they changed it to that in a patch.

Its range is always 24 for my FO1 (w/ TeamX 1.2.1+1.3.5) and FO2 (from official 1.02d to RP 2.2). Which patch sets the range to 30?

Weird, I went through all the versions I have and they're all 24. So I have no idea where the 30 came from o_O

Good thing I asked, now I know the answer :P

EDIT: The question stands then, why is it listed as 30 in the wiki:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/14mm_pistol_(Fallout)

EDIT2: Oh well, I changed it in the wiki so now it should be accurate

The 14mm is crap anyways. I never used it, and I never thought anyone else did.

Just stick to 10mm SMGs. It works a a pistol and an SMG with the semi-auto and auto switches.

No way, 14mm and .223 are great for your NPCs
Yeah I always give Ian a 14mm, because he cannot be trusted.
 Heh, fair enough.

Tim Cain mentioned in the Fallout post-mortem (2012 GDC) that hirelings was a last-minute afterthought, and when I spoke with him recently he said that was one of his "top things I'd change about the game" -- making hirelings aware of player location, so they wouldn't Friendly Fire. Unfortunately I don't think this can be scripted, maybe with sfall in the Fallout 2 engine, maybe. But more likely it'd need to be changed in the engine itself (hardcoding).
