30 new weapon ideas!!! lots of small ones.

Read back, i said that i didn't want to give out the name of my employer, due to the fact that others might associate my opinion with that of the company's. And i can back up my employment with I.P. i had no intentions of trying to mislead anyone. I use the acronym I.P. (which IS separate from Interplay... 1 word instead of 2) every single day, so it never even occurred to me that anyone would associate I.P. with Interplay. In the future I’ll be sure to elaborate further to avoid any other confrontations. Bragging? No, i was just saying that International Paper doesn’t hire "idiots." that along with the fact that i was 18 when they hired me as a Software Programmer... Hadn’t even graduated high school yet. And yes, I am sure that many of you who participate in this forum have had similar success stories as well.

Please come up with some new arguments, this is something like the 50th post in which you've bragged about your story. And an acronym doesn't usually have any periods, I don't think... so you work for ip. Ip! Ip-ip-ip-ip! Like NASA, no one says N-A-S-A. And no, antidisestablishmentarianalism isn't usually trimmed down to A.

Hey, 8ball, do you play SFC? If so, do you play on Mplayer? If "yes", then what is your call sign? Yes, Istanbul... that and Particle man, etc. all great songs. I do have a large vocabulary, just can't spell very well. O well. And yeah, i know that there isn’t a spell check on this forum... i was only saying that i "don't check my spelling errors all the time." not to mention the fact that i usually post messages around 1 AM-6 AM, so i am dead tired and tend to be a bit sloppy. Right now it’s 7:30 PM and I’ve been up for 36 hours already.

Guys look; i realize what you two were getting at... (Sorry about "acronym", incorrect terminology) i understand how you could get Interplay from I.P. It was an honest mistake... i said that i made it and it wasn’t intentional... thus, the end of it. In the future, if i am referring to my employer, then i will not use I.P. to refer to them. We’ve already been over this by the way.

You know what? Europa's right, he can spell correctly if he hasn't been up 500 hours and besides, we all like Fallout---if not, why'd we be here? Let's not shame the holy FO and instead act with gratitude towards another for taking interest in Fallout.

Just no more suggestions to use "POO ON A STICK" as a weapon. Please.

still would be funny though... your character running around with shit on a stick... and guys with like 900 HPs run away as fast as they can.

Special encounter: You find talking poo on ground called "Mr. Hanky, Christmas Poo." You can use a pointy stick on him and get a weapon that makes enemies go, "He's mr. hanky, the christmas poo, he loves me and we love you!"
 
how about having the "Golgotha shit armor?"

or maybe your character could get into jewish mythology and gain the ability to create his very own Golem?

What about a helmet with horns? or methane gas in a container, then have something making a spark, and then BOOOM......

I think something that should be taken into consideration is more melee weapons, and the ability to sneak up and kill a person. There is some of this, but as many people have commented, melee/hand-to-hand combat is virtually useless in Tactics, but is also not that important in Fallouts 1 or 2.

How about something like piano wire where one can sneak up on someone from behind and strangle him or cut through the arteries of his neck? Or a garrote, simply rope with knots. The player would need really good sneak skills but this should work.

- Throwing your enemy with Brick....
- Hit their head with Your rifle butt....
- Rip a pipe from a kitchen sink and then use it as a club....
- Throw a fridge to your enemy....

But what is this Mumbo Jumbo called "Piano Wire"? Im a fans of Agent 47 too but i'm not going put it right here. Plus how many damage would you put? 100? 200? or 10?
Also how do you thing you gonna kill a BOS with a Piano Wire? They were wearing Power Armor. Also how about mutant? Their neck were too big (though some didn't got a neck at all...)
Also who says Melee weapon useless in FOT? Ask Big Fat Mama! He said he could kill a Mutant with a knife easily. When RObo cames, he got Ripper.....

Actaully the problem is not so much damage, but using sneak. Lets say there are about 4 or 5 raiders hanging around a target. Wouldn't it be nice to sneak up and take one out without alerting the whole gang. Especially since so much of the fighting is you and your small group against a larger group.

I know, its a one shot = one kill thing, and maybe that's too much realism, but it would give those who like the stealth method more fun with this.

Well that adds a couple of problems. One with high armor would be harder to kill. As for Mutants, that's a problem, but there should be some way to do the stealth kill.

Chances are this would probably work best against targets with have low health points, like raiders, before you get something like a silent death perk, or slayer perk. The game does allow some advantages for back attacks.

Also just because you try to use a garrote or piano wire, doesn't mean you will succeed. Higher level characters would probably be harder to kill.

I agree, for some players melee still works. But generally most of the posts have indicated that most players think the melee attacks are fairly weak later in the game.
 
What about adding a "backstab" style bonus to attacks? If you sneak behind somone and hit them in the back (provided you pass the sneak check and they don't notice you) with a melee weapon you do somthing like an automatic critical hit, and leave the rest up to the critical roll. Could help out those thief style characters, not to mention help with those missions like in FO2 where you gotta kill the hubologist in NCR. Using Super-Stims got kinda old/stupid heh.

I mean every single one is either retarded, useless, mispelled, unrealistice, totally retarded, or are just retarded like that .280 hunting rifle omg there aren't even .280 bullets in existance you fucking idiot and higher caliber doesn't mean more damage exactly, should be something like a longer-rifle rifle for better range or a scope for accuracy or improved firing mechanism for increased bullet projection force
