3D-Enclave soldier

Turnip

It Wandered In From the Wastes
A thread on the order gave me the idea of making a fallout relatet 3d-picture, and here it is.
It is not as god as i would have liked it,
since it is a lot harder to make them than i expected.
enclave3.jpg

It shows an enclave soldier loking like this:

The program i used was 3dografe from dografe.de
Edit: new version

It'd be nice if the background texture was a bit more fallouty.

The backgroundtexture is a little bit more fallouty.
But i think it has become harder to recognize the soldier, which is
why i have not edited the original post.

Not only a problem whith the texture not having enough details, there seems to be a problem too if one uses a texture with to many details, since they distract.
Going to experiment further with it tomorrow.

I just lost an eye trying to see that enclave soldier. Thank you.

You owe me!

Reading this made me realise I have a stereoscope lying around somewhere. If only I had some other things to watch than the bloody smurfs...

That's really well done! It's not too detailed, but you'd probably struggle to do so with a picture of that nature.

Jolly well done, what!

I think it's pretty nifty.

The 2nd picture is indeed slightly harder to make out the trooper but it's still visible.

I've never experimented with visuals like these before but I'd expect that it's going to be hard to add details to the trooper and for people to be able to pick them out. It's the general outline of the object most people see so you should try with objects which are easily visible from their outline. A fallout symbol for instance would possibly be better.

I have changed the background colour so that it fits a little bit better to the Fallout-theme and used a slightly altered version, i gave up to find a realy Fallout related background since they all messed up the hidden picture, either by not having enough contrast or by distracting.
However, if someone should find a fallout related picture with quite a lot contrast but without to great changes in colour please tell me.

Here is another one, and again something went wrong.
The middle is good enough, but the edges...

Here is another one, and this time ,dadadadam, with the original fallout green-goo texture.
Thanks for the hint Kahgan :)

sorry, I'm at a total loss as to what i'm looking at. I see the enclave soldier in the top picture UNDER the gray image thing. However, what am I supposed to see in the larger pictures? Like I see nothing in the green goo but the green goo. Is the enclave soldier there somewhere? Sigh sorry, feel like an idiot but I'm at a loss.

Stereograms are hidden pictures that one sees when looking at theeses pictures, how exactly is discribed here.

that last one (the green goo barrels) were neat.
I'm an expert in seeing those pictures 8)

I love them , i too am an expert at seeing them , you can get magic eye books full of them. The only one which made my eyes funny was the Nuclear blast one but thats because im looking at it at *checks time* 4AM

I wanna see a finnished rendered one.
Since I made them with photoshop, this is not likely going to happen.
And these are the final versions, they are stereograms, not 3D models.

No, i think it is because there are borders for a stereogram at the right and left side that should not be crosed if the picture has to look good, and i pased them.

I am glad you like them :D.
