50's propaganda

Here's a nice example of american 50's propaganda. It's rather slow, but interesting nonetheless. It makes me wonder what kinda of propaganda there would've been in the FO world before the bombs fell.

The link shows a nice example of hate-propaganda disguised into a friendly lil' movie. You'll notice that there is no real difference between morals, the state and the church.

A rather funny note is the separate 1 person beds in the father's bedroom. I had to laugh at that.

But most importantly, always remember: service guarantees citizenship!

(I hope no one posted this before though)

'As American as apple pie and ice cream. As a matter of fact, you can find apple pie and ice cream here.'

Bwahahahaha!

Great find, SuAside, awesome stuff.

PS: 1-person-beds suck.

If it's supposed to put the fear in me, it succeeded.

Sadly, it gave me the fear of strange men hanging around my house giving me nightmares of communist towns in my head.

You mean Duck and Cover?

I wouldn't call that propaganda... It's just a very useful safety instruction, you know.

Ehehehe.
Duck and Cover and similar movies were mainly created to make sure there'd be no wholescale panic in the case of a nuclear explosion (or something resembling it). Telling people to 'duck and cover' gave them a (rather useless) purpose and a feeling of being protected and prepared.

Like a safety hatch on the side of an airplane.

False sense of security.

"I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration , Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion, and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids... "

No no, that's the koreans.

Yeah, and that's why they are being packed into small rooms to earn virtual money/equipment.

Aww boy, how I love these; that smooth narrating voice and the 'capitalism-beats-the-shit-outta-everything'-atmosphere.
Keep 'em coming!
