9 Hours, 58 Minutes.

after i couldnt find half the corpses to loot i redid the whole thing and i was ahead of him the whole time....he didnt stop zapping people

Hmm, well, wait for the part when you get right next to the Memorial, then immediately run up the scaffolding there. I shit you not, over 20 enclave start running down the side of it, and he can't kill them fast enough to make that part easy for you.

yeah i know but thanks to vats it wasnt exactly a difficult situation holding a fully repaired an32 and fully repaired complimentary brotherhood armor....VATS: *im too tired to insert clever ruins the game play on an acronym here*

The only time I enjoy VATS is when it follows a single bullet in slowmotion. For some reason, that just tickles my fancy. And yes, with that gear, it must have been easy as hell for you. I was using a 35% sniper rifle, so I had a challenge. I actually died! But nothing a reload and a shot from the MIRV couldn't fix.

Vats isn't cheating at all. I've died numerous times playing hard/very hard. And you're lying if you claim you haven't.

i never made that claim. but defeating 3 super mutants with superior weapons at level 3? no. just no.

Of course by the end of the game you become close to a walking god which was exactly the same case in the first two fallouts.

true, but like i said: this happened within the first 90 minutes of the game.

as a matter of fact, i just did it again this morning, this time with the hunting rifle.

or you could just listen to the girl and stay back....the robot never dies....and itll kill everything in one shot, so no real practical use there...mabye aesthetic

that thing delivers some of the best lines in the entire game.

"Communism is the very definition of 'failure'".

I recall killing 4-5 Super mutants in Necropolis in Fallout 1 at lvl 5, so it's not THAT big of a stretch. As well I died several times at lvl 4 before killing that group in the church that you mention.

I see a lot of people complaining about the end boss difficulty. First of all, if you find the game easy why not just slide the difficulty level up?

Secondly, I killed fallout 2s end boss in 3 turns with 6 targeted shots using a pulse rifle.....WOW that's difficult!!!!

But yes, seeing as this is a first person shooter/rpg hybrid, if you are competent at FPSs, VATS takes the guess work out of it. I like it :)

^ Read the topic discussing HARD difficulty.

Agreed, boss of FO2 wasn't that horribly hard. Can't comment on FO3 boss difficulty, haven't gotten there yet.

Did i mention the first time i played it through it was on hard and the second time through it was on very hard? he slightly shows some difficulty on VH but once you get to the magic lvl of 20 it seems there should be 2 more difficulty levels....extreme and apocalyptic? (i thought it was more clever than very very and very very very hard, lol)

Wait you have beat the game TWO times? Really you people are not exploring the locations and doing side quest are you?

I have 28 hours 26 min play time and I have been making extensive use of the fast travel/not dicking around just wandering the waste looking for special encounters and little things like the random raider/enclave mini fortresses. About 30 something discovered locations and many more to go from what ive read.

Main quest wise I just got to the Brotherhood Of Steed Citadel and all that junk. How far into the main story am I rough estimate % wise?

Roughly 85%. Once you get to the citidel, theres not much more story left. So I suggest you explore your world fully, cause if you don't, the games going to end quicker than you think.

yeah, ive beat the game twice and currently im working on exploring the side quests...its fairly easy to beat the main quest line twice when its only 10-15 hours long...i played the game for 40 hours straight when i bought it (mabye ill take a break and watch the making of dvd today)

the problem is its not exactly hard no matter what difficulty level your on once you hit lvl 20....you could walk into swarm of enclave soldiers on very hard and if you have the right equipment and perk combinations your just not gonna die...period
