Ausir spied with his eagle eyes a short Fallout demo trailer showing off the engine in the GURPS days, which has so far only been glimpsed in screenshots on game boxes.

Watch out for some extensive combat options, including the fourteen hit zones. The game location seems to be a tutorial version of Scrapheap that includes the radscorpion cave quest, a set-up that still has dialogue remnants in the game files.

This sort of explains why there seemed to have been a second demo, or at least one in the making. First they made the village + radscorpions internal demo for GURPS, then when they ditched GURPS those scripts didn't fit the system any more. When making the public demo they didn't revisit the scorpions but set the whole thing in Scrapyard and added the gangs.

The weapon sounds are bitchin'. A shame they didn't keep them as additional ones. Or are they just amplified and distorted?

I think they may be amplified. I spent a few seconds wondering whether the music was a different mix before I decided it's just less muted than normal. So maybe the .223 Pistol sound is an "original" sound they forgot to edit and that's why it's so different.

The music sounds like a slightly muffled version of 'Khans of New California'.

Sure brings back memories though. I remember how excited I was to find the minigun in the fridge in the public demo.

Im blind or the radscorpion have the "frag" animation, scraped from the the full game? If im correct it sad that this was removed from game, couse it looks very nice.

Omg, I totally want to play this.

From where is this video? Why it comes out now and is there more stuff? Who is this YouTube dude?

Wow. What I really liked personally was the punching "war cry" sound.
Sounded a little distorted but to me it sounds alot better than the damn near silence of the Fallout punch noise.

I imagine that bobbing pointer which is some way apart from what you're actually pointing at would grow tiresome.

The hit zones seem to be:
Head, Brain, Eyes, Neck, Torso, L. Arm, R. Arm, L. Hand, R. Hand, L. Leg, R. Leg, L. Foot, R. Foot and "Vitals"?

I can't make out the writing on the "INSTANT/AUTO" screen before the combat though. I wonder what that was for.

EDIT: Also, I think the assault rifle is labelled "Colt Rifle".

Hot damn, this is nice. I especially like the idea of having only one two-handed weapon at a time, brings more tactical thinking into combat.

Hmm. Would it even be remotely possible to get a hold of those sound effect files?

I would really like to have them to play with, maybe even mod them into Fallout 2 if I can.
