A PA visual effects reel with obvious inspirations

The only criticism I have is that it was more Robocop than Power Armour.

Still cool tho'.

And better than most CG/Live action pieces, they are usually much less believable.

He used interesting tricks to get that effect.

For instance, notice that the camera is always shaky. This blurs all objects, meaning that res-problems on the power armor are not visible, even close-up.

That would be really annoying in a full movie or episode of a series, which is why it's a pretty poor trick

Yeah, it kinda annoyed me already.
It totally didn't look like Robocop though, the soldier just moved like that. The looks were all Fallout.

One weird thing though. Why the hell is the guy in the alcove so calm.

"So there I was just having a crap in this alcove and now there's a huge guy in power armour sticking a gigantic goddamn minigun in my left nostril. Sup dude?"

People adapt, and because they adapt they get used to stuff. Would you still wet your pants after the umpteenth time a soldier stuck a gun under your nose and you had nothing to hide (which I assume is the case with the duder)?

.. Or he maybe wasn't a good actor... I mean, actually nothing happened. :P

It's a visual effects reel, made to show off visual effects skills

The guy was only there so he could check him through his visor and do that X-Ray stuff

It's not supposed to win an oscar for acting

I know, just commenting his acting, I mean, effects are not everything...

Actually I am the one person who likes that movie most here I think.
The shaky camera makes it easier for him and adds alot to the reality, the fact that one guy has made everything is incredible. The model is great and the way it is imported to the clip is almost flawless.
I really can't find it "allright" as you do, I think it is really incredible and would love to know how he made everything...

I meant the way he moved and the computer interface dealy. That was certainly not Fallout inspired.

EDIT - Actually not so much the way he moved, but something in the demeanor. *Shrug*
