A question about the Couriers past.

Other than the package that detonated the ICBM's, what did the Courier have to do with the Divide, Ulysses seems to change from saying he destroyed it,to he founded it and then saying he passed through often enough to let the community thrive.

I don't understand what the Courier has to do with the divide other than delivering the package.

Delivering packages to and from the Divide is what allowed it to grow and prosper thanks to connections to the NCR, the Courier didn't even tougt about it other than as a job but his actions had an impact on it anyways. Same way tha he didn't know that he delivered the device that destroyed the community but it still had an impact. Ulysses has a flare for the dramatic so he exagerates the role of the Courier on it.

The Divide sprung up on a trade routes that the courier had forged through the wilderness between NV and the NCR. Making the Courier somewhat resposible for both it's growth and it's eventual fate, or so Ulysses claimed.
