A tidbit from the Fallout 3 plot revealed

Brother None

In response to the Gamespot article posted about below (which, in correction of my earlier statement, was indeed good article, though with minor flaws, apologies), former BIS dev Damien "Puuk" Folletto revealed another tidbit of the Fallout 3 plot:
Overall, I liked the article. The only glaring thing I saw wrong (and no one else would know this save the other devs) was that it wasn't the Brotherhood of Steel holding the PC prisoner. It had to do with a pre-war government quarantine protocol that was still being executed after the bombs fell. And, the PC could not start in multiple locations. However, like in the previous games, the PC was free to go wherever he wanted when he wanted from the onset. It was our goal to stick with the feel of Fallout 1 as much as possible.
Thanks, Puuk :ok:

hhmm...this is very intersting...but sadly we have only to imagine what the game will be about....

call me a fool...but i am still hoping...

That brings so many questions.

Was the Enclave aware of this protocol?

How did it tie into the Vault system?

Why was your character a prisoner?

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN, DAMN :( :( :( :(

[speculation]
Maybe you're ancestors were detained for experimental purposes in relation to FEV or some other advanced soldier idea?

Would it be reasonable then to assume that the advances were passed down genetically, and you are an uber-human?

Do pigs fly?
[/speculation]

Heh. Fallout 3's already got us "thinking" about it. Seems they got one aspect of Fallout in there at least. It's also good to hear that it wasn't the Brotherhood of Steel. I mean for fuck's sake, do they have to be in everything (plus throw in arguments about the BoS being formed pre-FO1 post-war yadda yadda yadda)?
