Addictions

Brutulf

Still Mildly Glowing
How long does addictions last? Do they all last the same time, or are there different durations for different drugs?

I think its probably my favorite line from the first Fallout. Its a dialogue option if you're an evil character when talking to Ton in the cathedral.

With the drugs, though, if you get hooked on jet the only way to get rid of the addiction is the jet antidote.

No, I played a fairly "good" character, and I still got that dialogue options. As far as I know, karma doesn't affect your dalogue options.

Oh, and there is no Jet in Tactics is it? Its that weird chewing gum instead, I think. At least it seems to have the exact same description/properties as Jet, except the name.

Huh.

I never got that dialogue option when I was good. Maybe you have a trait or perk I never picked for a good character? There's so many options in Fallout that its almost impossible to tell.

I didn't realize you were talking about Tactics. There isn't any jet, and afterburn addiction only lasts a few days. Most times your addiction to something will have cleared up by the time you reach the bunker, but withdrawal and after effects of overdoses can last weeks.

The fact that this whole thread was posted in "Fallout Tactics Help & Tech discussions" should have kinda, sorta given you a hint...

I usually do this stuff and two in the morning while searching multiple threads. I get confused sometimes.

Shortly after I picked up Max I pumped him full of psychos and afterburner, and then I decided to feed him some Mentats so he'd get skill points if he leveled up. That overdosed him, and the after effects lasted until I started fighting the robots. When the overdose occurred on the second-to-last mutant mission.
