Advance Power Armor EARLY

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
I was reading something that said you could get the APA really early in the game, like as soon as you leave Arroyo. Well I tried just getting to SanFran and there is NO WAY in hell that one can do it. Every step you take once you get a bit south is an encounter with the Enclave. So my question to you is, have any of you actually gotten the APA this early in game? And how?

Thanks,
Mohrg

It's seems in Per's guide that he has managed it. I never did because I think that kind of armor too early will ruin the risk in the game.

But apparently, to follow Per's short cut, you have to save often, move in small leaps, and good luck.

Yeah, it is doable. I've done it at least a couple of times. Once you leave Arroyo, you need to go to San Francisco and take the quest to get the Vertibird plans in Navarro (where you will find the set of Advanced Power Armour). While travelling the wasteland, you will have to safe very often (travel short distances, like one or two squares at a time and save your game). However, if you have Advanced Power Armour so early in the game, it'll take away a lot of the fun (gunfights will be child's play). You'll also level up way too fast (for instance, the quest to get the Vertibird plans for the Brotherhood of Steel gives you 20000 xp!). If you've never tried it before, it might be fun, though. You'll also be able to get your hands on some very nice weaponry and armour for you and your future NPC's (in the BoS bunker in San Francisco and in Navarro).

Try going on the eastern side of Redding/New reno to get to San Fran, then go straight through to the Enclave. Don't know if that helped or not...

Thanks m8's. As soon as I leave this shit hole called work, I'm going to try it out.
