Age of Conan

it's a clip (CGI), not ingame.

and yes, it'll be rate 17+ at least. plenty of gore and blood.

Hmm, yes, but I was just referring to the fight scene in the video with the barbarian fighting off those 3 people, very gruesome.

And just to straighten things out, I knew it wasn't an ingame video, I only said "video", though, maybe I should have been more specific.

- yes, it'll be on the 360 too, but likely released over a year later than the PC version.
- unknown. at first it was said they didn't want them together due to obvious differences in interface and gameplay (i.e. autoaim, typing, etc). however, now one of the devs has said they're hoping to integrate both, so people can play together (which is silly and complicated in my book, but whatever). he also added that it also depended heavily on Microsoft and that they're likely some kind of testproject (in the eyes of M$) to see if this crossplatform thing could be viable.
Thank you for clearing that up for me.
But I am wondering how well they are gonna pull off this "unique" combat system, I got the jist of how it's going to work.

ingame, you're more likely to chop off head than chopping off arms ;)

I am also looking forward to this. Too bad they have all those delays. In the end however it will lead to a better and more polished game methinks. Need new computer though.

Already planning on getting it when it comes out, along with a couple of friends. I've never tried MMO's before but this seems like the kind I'd enjoy.

Looks interesting. The whole barbarian, pre-Rome theme has never really been my cup of tea, but the combat system looks promising, graphics are nice, and that whole RTS-style town-building interests me. The possibility of towns being built and possibility destroyed as you play in the MMO world would make for a much more dynamic experience than you can get in the MMOs currently on the market.

Something to keep my eye on for sure.

I am looking forward to Conan too, I think the adult content will make for a better game.

Well, most of the adult content. I think getting buffed from sex might be kind of stupid.

why the hell not? there's a buff for everything else in MMOs :)

it's a raw world of hate, racism, slaves, etc...

you should also check GTA when it comes to hookers..

Hm, sex usually is something of an upper, makes sense for it to give a small buff. Bad experiences?

Would be amusing (and more realistic) if there was also a chance for you to fall into a heavy sleep afterwards.

for male characters anyway.

females dont have the same chemicals released in their brain after sex. man has done his part and can go to sleep, while the woman should go out and find more candidates? looks like that from a biological point of view.

did you ever doubt the female models? it's a mature game without kiddies afterall. no, hot coffee danger at all.

also dont forget it's a setting full of slaughter, dark religions, beer, wine and slave girls!

I learned my lesson on MMo's when I started playing "Vanguard" a promising title that got fucked up by a overzealous developer. It seems to me that most MMO titles are as follows:

Step 1: Get levels really fast by being a delivery boy for characters and killing lots of things.

Step 2: Get killed by characters that are really high level.

Step 3: Get to be a high level character ,so now you kill low level characters in spite of the high level characters that killed you ,who were also killing you because they were killed by a high level character a month ago when they were low level.

Step 4: Go do end level content raids.

Step 5: Lose your job from playing MMo's all the time.

Vanguard is simply an unfinished game that was rushed out (not to mention the development staff was fucked over halfway). so it's really no surprise it sucks...

From what I have heard of vanguard, the money supporters backed out, so they had to launch an unfinished product. That again is suicide in todays MMO business so it crashed down and now soe owns it and tries to squeese the last drop of money own it. It got like 22000 players last I heard and falling fast.

Everyone that played it said it had great potential though.

I think I buy age of conan when it comes out, been following it for a while. stopped playing new games in general after world of warcraft 1.5 years ago.

i hope the pvp is any good, I rather like team-based pvp and Dark age of camelot with it sieges was really exciting..overall best pvp experience I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of the individual pvp of ultima, i like to be part of a group.

Problem is I don't have a lot of time anymore. So i'll try to level my char a bit...but if the leveling becomes grinding a lot, I'm afraid I just buy a fully leveled char from e-bay.

Arnt those videos bitchen? I will be checking this MMO out if only for the sheer carnage factor. Not to mention, other MMO's make me cry... Pirates of the Burning Sea... Words cant describe the mediocrity.

i hope(d) to play it, but i doubt with my current workschedule that i'll be able to at all... (i'm not going to get a subscription for those 3 or 4 hours i'd play in the weekends...)

too bad. i've had close contacts with some devs and betatesters. sounds really neat, though hard to gauge the longevity of the game.
