it seems to me the fallout staff has neglected firearms from the one country that is vastly superior at making them than any other----GERMANY some german guns i'd like to see are:

1) the classic mauser gewher 98
2) the H&K USP in .45
3) ANY Ziegenhahn & Sohn double barrel big bore rifle
4) and the continued use of the mauser c96

and of course some other weapons (not necessarily german) would be:

a nice wooden bat with big nasty nails hammered through the end
a harpoon
a rock with a rope tied around it
and of course....GRUNGNIR Odin's spear that never misses its mark

Thank God they didn't. Fallout was not meant to be an encyclopedia of military weapons of all times.

I think they had a few too many high-tech German H&K weapons in Fallout 2 than were needed. I thought the selection in Fallout 1 was about accurate, in Fallout 2 it was excessive. I mean, really, do we really need two guns that are essentially the same, the H&K G11 and the H&K G11e?

And since when do those guns become widely available, especially to a post-nuclear war world? They aren't even very available now.

This automatic rifle were introduced in the 1980's.
The West-German Army were going to change their standard weapon and the G11 was what Heckler and Koch came up with.
However, the reunion of east and west germany led to a lot of chaos and certain political factors changed the choice to some thing else.
It was never set into production, but before 2077 it could have become very popular and massproduced for something or someone.

Interesting stuff.. nice site too. The gun looks like it would be really easy to use too..
