Amazon.co.uk cancels CE pre-orders

<s>It would be nice if someone who pre-ordered this from Amazon could comment, but</s> it seems like Amazon.co.uk has cancelled pre-orders of the PC version of the UK collectors edition. The item's status has changed from "available for pre-order" to "sign up to be notified when the item becomes available".

There is a thread discussing the email Amazon.co.uk sent out to pre-order customers, we'll await further word.

Oddest point being it is gone for PC but not for Xbox 360 or PS3.

From the sound of the comments, some people got shafted. What may have happened was that they had more orders than they had products and thus people got screwed. My only problem with amazon and preorders is that they do this and give the products out not on a first come, first serve basis but to their special/preferred members first and then it seems like random members after that (that's what happened with the D&D4th Edition gift set).

Eh? They cancelled existing CE pre-orders.

Maybe nobody was buying the PC CE so they decided to turn them all into console CEs?

I can say that my Survival Edition pre-order hasn't been canceled... of course, I'm in the United States. =)
 
I ordered mine at the start of the month when it was available for pre-order.

I've now ordered from play.com who are also throwing in free delivery. Aren't they nice.

Someone else in that Amazon thread posted an email they received where Amazon were told that the supplier said this item was no longer available.

they are randomly cancelling pre-orders to make room for preferred or high volume customers who are ordering them.

2)
they are randomly cancelling pre-orders because their supplier is now telling them they have less than they thought.

3)
they are cancelling all orders due to either or both 1/2

4)
they are cancelling all orders because it may have been in before the extent of the censorship was announced

5)
the contents of the CE edition is changing and they are cancelling all pre-orders so people can re-order when they get the correct contents list

just a few thoughts
 
Cancelled pre-orders aren't that weird, TWD, but this is only for the PC, not Xbox/PS3. And that's weird.
 
They're golding the DVDs again, but this time with UberStarforce v6.66.

j/k. Wierd, though.
