Still Mildly Glowing
been a while since i have made one of these threads. if anyone has info on the following games post here please.

Dead man's hand
desperado's 2
morrowind(only played oblivion and thought it was boring)
lionheart gothic 3
dark messiah of might and magic

Dark Messiah is a rather original action game, with nice physics. Try it.

Morrowind is a lot better than Oblivion, decent design and far better story but rather mehish when compared to Daggerfall.

Gothic 3 sucks

Lionheart supersucks

Never played Dead Man's Hand

It's mandatory you load up a ton of mods beforehand for Morrowind, to make it bearable.

It has some great backstory elements, especially the ( <3 ) Dwemer.

As for the other games... Dark Messiah succeeds where Bioshock has failed - your environment is really your weapon, all the time, whereas in Bioshock it's just a gimmick. Gothic 3 is worth your cash, as it's much more atmospheric, complex and interesting than it's competitor, Oblivion.

Don't listen to it's detractors, with the newest patch it works great. And the storyline is really worth it.

Can you not just use one mega "Tell me what to enjoy" thread?

If oblivion bored you, so will morrowind.

Never played Lionheart or dead man's hand.

Desperados 2 is great, although i often have to wrestle with the temptation to play it like an action game, like my first play through.

DM's combat is pretty fun, bored me after a while though, and performed really poorly. I found out the trick is to have the steam version (accessible if you have a serial key) , as it seems far more stable then my retail copy.

Dark Messiah is the only game on that list that I've played. It is an interesting game because it is so much easier to fight "cheap" than it is to fight "normal"

If you run in with your sword drawn and try and melee someone to death your chances of survival are much lower than if you just kick them close to, then over, a cliff.

Some insanely cool things happen in that game. I kicked a barrell into an arrow by accident. The arrow was deflected and killed a third person. Cool stuff.

It's also fun when you kick a person off a high place and on his way down he hits another and BOTH hurl to their deaths. Ah, how fun it was to dispose of the vampire knights that way.

Of course, once I got my stealth to 3 and Garrett's outfit, I went for the Silent Death approach.

Hi-jack!

I'm wondering whether or not to pick up Psychonauts tomorrow. I've heard good and bad things about this game, wondering what you guys think about it.

HATED it.

The idea was kind of cool, you can go into people's minds and explore them. That lead to some interesting locations.

You also had "cool" abilites which weren't all that great (kind of like the powers in Bioshock)

BUT!

Characters repeated their lines waaaaayyyyyyy too often. When ever you were in a story scene, like you were fighting a bunch of monsters, some character would be in the back ground saying something like "Aim for the head!" every 2.5 seconds. Totally pissed me off.

The camera sucked. It was way to easy to get turned around just because they camera so looesly followed your charactes and always ended up in retarded angles.

The whole game was fairly simplistic. You could target enemys and shoot them really easy so combat was little more than a couple of buttons. Puzzels were never very complicated.

Probably worth $10 because you can get a couple of hours of fun out of it, but I wouldn't pay much more.

Psychonauts is awesome. The storyline is great and has many laugh out loud moments. In addition, the activities are fun and keep the game interesting with each level offering a different twist.

However, the last level is one of the worst experiences in gaming and I never could beat it. But I liked the game so much, i extracted the video files and watched the final movies.

Great game, I recommend it.

Dark Messiah is cool to play, especially with a staff. Many OMG SWEET moments.

Morrowind isn't much of an action game, but it's about freedom of play, LOTS of quests way better than in Oblivion and much better story. Until now there are shitloads of mods to it, which make the game even better. Morrowind is one of my favorite games in fact, I had high hopes that Oblivion would be, too. The result of those hopes is pretty obvious, I think. Wasted time and money. (the worst thing in Oblivion is that it takes some time to realise the game sucks horribly, you want to think that soon something interesting *has to happen*)

Gothic 3 isn't worth the time or money you'd have to spend on it, even though the story is better than in Oblivion. Story? Nothing particulary fascinating and gameplay is unbalanced and boring (usually it's you vs 100 orcs tossing auto-aimed fireballs on you). Not that is completly bad...it's just not good enough, for me at least.

Didn't played the rest.
