Don't get Zero Popup. It worked great as a demo, but when the trial ran out it was impossible to remove.

Um hello?!? Did you even bother to look around the site? I'm using the free version right now and it works fine. I *downloaded* the free version yesterday at my office.

I use NoAds. It's okay..... Not really sure though. It's not as if I've run a comparison on any of the pop-up stoppers.

I just use Popup stopper because it is really simple: Blocks all new browser windows unless I hold Ctrl or Shift, even new browser windows popped up by applications.

I remember some of the other techniques like code modifiers, etc. but this is the one that fits my usage.
