Any F3 mod bringing the game closer to FNV?

Hlaskover

First time out of the vault
Hello,

I've played both F3 and FNV and in my humble opinion the latter is way better, both in storytelling and gameplay. I'm considering going back to F3, this time with DLCs and any good mods I can find, and related to that is my question:

Is there a mod (or a set of mods) which makes the F3 experience more like that in FNV? I mean both "world elements" (like campfire or hardcore for example) and "game rules" (in F3 creatures won't notice if you shoot their fellows, NPC wheel). The perfect solution would be for me to play the F3 plot as if it was completely under the FNV design.

Lacking that, is there any standard, recommended, "must-play" set of mods for F3? Is there a hardcore mode available?

Thanks in advance and sorry if this question is asked too often.

I'm currently doing what you're considering, i.e. playing through Fallout 3 with some heavy modding going on...

Go here http://www.fallout3nexus.com and search for:
Primary Needs (not using this myself)
Responsive Kill Reactions
Weapon Mod Kits
RH IronSights - FOSE
Tactical Combat Order System

For added content (quests, lands, creatures):
Marts Mutant Mod
The Librarian - Orions Gate
Alton IL

Cosmetical:
Fallout Street Lights
NMCs Texture Pack
Fallout 3 Project Beauty
Ambient wasteland
Darnified UI (not on Nexus, though)

And to slow your levelling (you would otherwise max out long before finished exploring, questing and killing):
Arwen Reduced XPR (I use the "extreme" version).

Some of these require compatibility patches to work together, but I'm sure you'll find them on F3Nexus if you look around.

And... while you're at it... Be sure to grab the unofficial patch, BOSS and Fallout Stutter Remover there as well. FOSE is also essential and you should find it easily on google.

Just a start for you...
I'm currently running ~100 different mods, made possible with the help of FO3Edit and Wrye Flash.

And use Fallout Mod Manager for managing your mods (yeah, you knew that already).

I also liked "No More Explosive Cars" here on nma (look under files). Car explosions was fun the first day or two but got boring after that.

Apart from the Unofficial Fallout3 Patch there's also something called Fallout Remastered which also claims to fix a lot of bugs.

Btw, since you're (probably) going to use fose-mods grab Fallout Stutter Remover and enable the FastExit mode to stop Fallout3.exe from hanging everytime you quit the game.

I use FO3 Wanderers Edition(FWE) which has borrowed a boatload of other mods like kill reactions, primary needs and Arwens improved mob ai. Having a gang of raiders that actually use cover and out-flanking maneuvers instead of just charging you head-on makes a world of difference in combat.

There should also be an awsome cooking mod but I haven't tried any of those yet.
