Any way to restore a cropped image?

PaladinHeart

Mildly Dipped
I was playing around with Pinnacle Studio Plus 9.0, and noticed it was showing up full images of cropped photos. There's one I'd like to restore to the way it was originally, so is there any program that can do that?

I'd just snatch the little photo preview but it's all blurry and stuff.

Edit: Just to make sure I'm understood. I want to restore a photo that was cropped and saved. I have no idea how this could be done. I'm not even sure if it's possible.. but if it's not possible then how come Pinnacle Studio Plus 9.0 is showing the original?

Thanks. I still think it's strange that the program is showing the originals. I wonder where it is getting that from?

I've noticed that a lot of cropped, edited, etc.. photos don't show up the original the same way.

Well anyways thanks for letting me know. At least now I won't wonder about it. xD

I don't know the program, but thumbnails are generally cached in a seperate file. The thumbs probably weren't updated after the pictures were cropped.

In the future, you might want to do what I do: Keep doubles of all your picture files. I usually save a "raw" set in one area, and keep them as is, kind of like film negatives. Then I make a second "album" folder where I crop, rotate, enhance, resize/compress, etc. everything. That way if I ever want to go back and do something with the original photo, I still have it. It takes up some storage space but for the most part it's negligable.

CSI Miami. They can do miracles. Call them. They have the software. I saw it on tv.

They have the technology?
They can rebuild the picture?
Make it load faster, make it bigger, and more detailed?

But I don't have 1 million dollars. :P

You never saw those episodes where they are looking at a video tape of a security camera and all of a sudden Horatio says: "Stop... right... there." We see a very blurry, ridiculously small picture of a man wearing a hoodie.

Lab dude: "This is probably our killer."
Horatio: "It most certainly is. Too bad we can only see the back of his head. Can you zoom in on that?"
Lab dude zooms in. It's a pixel mess, you can't distinguish a thing.
Horatio: "Can you make the image sharper?"
Lab dude: "Sure thing, Horatio."
Lab dude clicks his mouse and we immediately get the sharpest enlarged image of the hoodie.
Lab dude [angry]: "Damn! Show us your face, killer man!"
Horatio: "Wait... a... minute... There is probably a reflection of his face in that tiny drop of rain in the distance. Zoom in on that."
Lab dude zooms in on tiny drop of rain in distance. We see two maybe three unidentifiable pixels.
Horatio: "Make it sharper and give me a copy of that."
Lab dude clicks mouse and makes a print for Horatio.
We see the print: it is a razorsharp image of the bad guy's face.
Horatio: "I think... we have just found our man."

Song kicks in: YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
