Anyone having problem only playing Fallout obsessively

I have several steam games and PC packages, i'm not an game addict but i like buying them when they are sold at half price on holidays.

Problem is, for years i've only played Fallout. i don't have much time to play all the games and have to work, I pour all my spare time on fallout.

I'm not attracted to any other games anymore..i don't know why.. i have Batman Arkham city... it is hilarious game.. but I played it for hours then stopped it.

All I play is only Fallout.

I played games as hobby since i was young. Only things caught my eyes were final fantasy series and fallout.

what's wrong with me?

Same thing that is wrong with me, if that's any consolation. I do play other games, but a few games like Fallout 1 and Battlezone 1 have permanently upped my expectations on atmosphere and immersion of gameworlds.

And games like Batman: Arkham Whatever get boring quickly because the narrative sucks and they can't be carried on their crappy combat mechanics alone.

There's a video of a guy randomly pressing buttons in Batman: Arkham Asylum fight sequences while wearing a blindfold. He won, of course.

Evert Fallout combined - POS would probably land me on around 1000-1500 hours or so.. But i've been playing them since 1999 and back then i didn't play much besides Fallout and some RTS.

I play a lot of other games, but I keep returning to the Fallout series regularly. It's by far my most played game series. It's just such a good combination of several things I love, in one way or another. Even the fps mechanics in NV can be very much enjoyable, and from time to time I will play a bit of FO3 only for the DC ruins. And every once in a while I want a tactical turn-based squad game and I will turn to Tactics. 1, 2 and NV are of course my favorites and the ones I play over and over. They all have the depth, the atmosphere, the humor and the post-apocalyptic americana world I so much adore. Plus, it's a good chunk of nostalgia that has me constantly returning.

F1: is probably the one i've played the least due to it being short and it lacks replay value for me.

F2: Ohh boy so many hours back in the days :P But for some reason i can't go back to it anymore.

Tactics: Wanted to play this again but the only bug fix mod i found was Redux and i did not want the new weapons/recruits etc.. And even if you fixed that you would still be stuck with some new things.. I don't like new stuffs in this game :P !

F3: Can't for my life complete my current playtrough due to a "bug" made by a mod.. I was going for 100% complete AKA exlore everything and do every ques i can but this put me off.. Even if i could fix it with a console command but i can't be arsed!

F-NV: Been thinking of modding it a bit but after browsing mods for 1 hour i didn't find anything new or interessting so i decided to go over to skyrim for a while.. But that is getting boring aswell.

Maybe i should find a new type of game or go back to my precious WW2 games like COH, day of defeat etc.

Addicting games that take all your time and makes you feel guilty? Civilization V. Really, that Sid Meier is the devil and Civilization is his tool for corruption of God's faithful gamers. It like 8h/day in that thing.

Woah! Just, Woah! Hold it. That's not fair to say at all. In fact, I think that the combat is the best thing to come out of the Arkham games. Indeed, the stories are nothing special, and in Arkham City's case quite schizophrenic and unfocused. But the combat is great. Altough button mashing might get you trough the game, if you play on the right difficulty it is not a very viable way to play. There's also the new game plus mode which removes enemy attack telegraphing.

You always have to pay attention since any enemy can strike at any time, and the amount of options is insane, throwing batarangs, throwing enemies, grabbing enemies, punches, kicks, flips, combos, freeze bombs, an electric gun, aerial takedowns, smoke bombs, executions, blocks, parries, redirecting projectiles, grappling, cape stuns, bat backup, weapon disablers and zipline kicks. The games also solved the issue of third person control in fighting systems. I never feel like I am not hitting what I want to hit.

There's issues with the Arkham games, mostly in the sequel. But the combat is not one of them in my opinion.

Look at assassin's creed for a combat system that sucks all the challenge and strategy out of a game.
