Anyone know of these books?

First time out of the vault
Years ago I read two books by David Drake and Bill Fawcett called Battlestation 1+2.

They were fantastic but I have never been able to find any more books pertaining to that setting. I have done some research on the net but I have come up with nothing so I was wondering if anyone was familiar with them.

Yeah, I read them when I was like five or something. From what I remember they're total crap.
I hope this answers your question.

Ah, the literate novelist snubs genre fiction and those that would read it.

Tsk tsk Alec. Arguably all literature can be divided into genre- even "good literature".

I did a search on fetchbooks.info and came up with little but what you got. Looks like Fawcett, who I don't know, does a lot of naval/fantasy/sci-fi writing, while Drake is known for Sci-fi war books.

The two collaborate for a series falled the Fleet, but you can figure that out if you do an amazon search.

Your best bet would be to contact a used book dealer who does a lot of sci-fi and ask if he knows if the series ever went to volume 3.
That or ask your library to do a search on books in print. ALibris came up with buckus.

I did all that.

I was more interested in if anyone knew of other books that the plotline tied into. I guess I wasn't specific enough.

Thx for your response though.

Two is all there are (at least by those authors), my brother owns both books, signed by both Fawcett and Drake (bought them both for five dollars).

They are hardly good books, but passable. I don't know about Fawcett, but I'm quite a fan of Drake. It's interesting to follow his carrier, because his latest stuff is quite good, but his early stuff is abysmal. His carrier is quite a linear progression of skill. Though he always had some talent in short stories.

Besides, he has interesting tastes in history.

I remember I really enjoyed Northworld, by Drake, though I only read the first book. It is only recently that I found out it was a series of three.

As for the battlestation serries..... I really liked the whole setting. The writing itself was mediocre but not bad, but I really enjoyed the concept of this huge, lone battlestation going to fight a war on such a grand scale. I thought that it could have been developed very nicely. Both of the books seemed to me to have had a lot of references to events that took place previously. That is why I was wondering if anyone had read them and knew of other books tied to them.

Since some of you seem to be such ardent literary critics, I would be interested to find out what books you enjoy?
