Same I have played less than an hour (around 40 or so minutes) and I think I am around level 6 or so. The first match I played I got to level 3, so balance is off in that department.I hate the leveling up and XP shit.
I've been seeing that in the reviews on steam, the positive ones at least. Never played much of the old ones, only 2 because I had that for ps1 back in the day, so I can't compare much to the old ones. This game though almost seems confused on what it wants to be, it wants to be an arena shooter with the pick ups and then it wants to be a call of duty/halo clone with levels and all that.I remeber saying this one would suck but i loved all the other Doom games. "Well this is how the original was so if you hate this you hate the old Doom games!" So apperantly the old Doom games are shit
more like from the brain of behind today virtual reality. also known as john carmack and his id tech engine. Is this game built on a mutated gamebyro engine?
No it is not, it's built using iD Tech 5 engine. The same engine to power Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood. As eissa said it uses mega textures which are huge textures that try to prevent duplicate set pieces and it does a pretty good job at it, only real disadvantage to going that route is the huge download size, TNO is around 50GB if I remember right. Is this game built on a mutated gamebyro engine?
actually it is id tech 6, which the dev insist it is very different than previous generation. it's not locked at 60 fps and texture popping were fixed. No it is not, it's built using iD Tech 5 engine. Is it 6 now? Guess I'm behind on the numbers then. From what I know the Doom beta is locked to 60 fps on PC but will be unlocked once the game releases according to the tweet that was sent out.actually it is id tech 6, which the dev insist it is very different than previous generation. it's not locked at 60 fps and texture popping were fixed.
dishonored 2 will using the modified id tech 6, and it looks awesome
For some reason something bugs me about how the game looks and moves. It looks kind of bright and plastic like, and the combat flowy, slow. Of course this is all from a few viewings on youtube of online multiplayer games, so maybe just wrong initial impressions.
