AoE III Demo

I read that this was supposed to be an mmorpg strat game. Two hour download for me who can verify this?

Well, for the Demo:

Windows XP
1.4 Ghz Processor
256 MB of Ram
64 MB Video Card with HW T&L
370 MB of Hard Disk space
DirectX 9.0c

I would recommend these settings to play it smoothly with semi-high settings.

Win XP Pro

3.0 Ghz CPU

+512MB RAM

+128MB Video Card

800MB HD Space

I don't argue that, but it does take under 30 seconds to find the website on your own. Then you can post it, which beats waiting around for CCR.

It looks cool. I'll download it later, I think. I've been looking forward to this game, but I'm not so keen on the card system.

The demo runs just fine on my rig (2 ghz processor, 512 mb ram, 128 mb ATI Radeon 9600, etc).

As for gameplay, I haven't had enough time to tinker around with it but there seems to be a fairly large amount of changes to the game, some of which are cool (the ability to hire indian allies and control trade routes) and some which are retarted (like the 'home city' concept and the fact that you have cards that you can play throughout the game to gain special power-ups).

I do like the graphics, though, and the setting is cool. Ultimately, though, this is just another AOE game. Which means I'll be waiting on Civ IV later this fall.

I'm not interested. It's pretty, yes, but it's basically Age of Empires II in 3D. There are a few minor additions, but nothing that redefines the game in any way, shape, or form. The developers have opted for the "more of the same" formula.

Yeah not sure what the deal is. 2.6ghz 1gig of RAM 256 9800pro. two 120 hitachis in a striped raid.Updated drivers n all... it just wont heed it Huss.

Why do the English speak German? And why do they have Musketeers and Longbowmen in the 1850s?

Well, somehow I suspect the game is not historically accurate. I don't seem to remember accounts of Railroad companies conducting full-scale wars against each other, down to destroying entire towns.

Johnny, middle English in 19th century South-Western America doesn't make much sense either.
