Arab spring, turkey riots, unified middle east?

I was thinking specifically N. Korea and Iran.

The two countries are hell bent on gaining nukes even though the resuts are crippling sanctions. I mean, sure Pakistan and India have nuclear weapons but they arn't exactly threatening to wipe entire countries from existance (well maybe eachother). Not to mention they were smart enough to keep their programs under wraps and most importantly, not make the choice of development themselves but get them by playing the major world powers off of one another.

Hypothetical convo between Pakistan and China "India has nukes and they may get too big for their britches so you might as well arm loyal Pakistan with nukes as well, if only to counter soviet influence."

Again to, nukes are a horribly sharp double edged swrod as well. Any country who uses them, without REALLY good reasons to, is either going to get nuked themselves or also get nuked and then sufffer crippling sanctions, AKA, be a world pariah.

So yeah, you look at Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc, all those governments have essentially pissed off everyone around them to such a degree that they became pariahs and nobody gave a shit when they got steamrolled by western governments.

Man, yesterday I was reading that shit got better in turkey and now I am reading about police violence and that they have stormed the protesters camp, shooting with tear gas and rubber bullets at them. It's a damn mess.

Regimes can go one of two ways it seems:

1. The government wins against rebels, reprisals, rebels conduct guerilla/terrorist campaign.

OR

2. The opposition topples the government which brings us back to the drama and the infighting bullshit.
