Hmm...

Does anyone else think that Persuasion should play a role in the number of followers you can have? It seems odd to me that Charisma alone would determine that. Perhaps, after reaching the level of apprentice, every point in Persuasion could be treated like an additional point in charisma for determing the number of followers you can have.

RE: Hmm...

I think the game designers had to make Charisma useful for SOMETHING. I mean, did anyone actually put points into it??

But don't you need Charisma to raise persuasion anyway?

RE: Hmm...

You do need charisma to raise persuasion, but they're not the same thing, and it seems to me that persuasion should play a role.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-01 AT 03:27AM (GMT)[p]It does. Just try raising it to expert level and see what that does to your max. amount of followers. And i think that when you get a master status in it, your followers will follow you whether you take the good path or not.
It also determines what you can do. for instance if you have 2 points in persuasion you can reveal that Gar the orc, isn't an orc and you can 'free' him and add him as a follower. There are other situations when a high persuasion is worth having.

RE: Hmm...

Yeah, but a Persuasion of 3 is good, yet there's no advantage to your total number. Plus, by the time you can have a Persuasion of 5, the bonus hardly matters since an additional point in charisma will max out your number of followers anyway.

RE: Hmm...

Yes there is. With an expert rank. You'll gain one more follower above what your charima allows.

Get expert persuasion and haggle, or expert thief and sneak and you'll be set for the whole game (I love how you can just sneak into the back room and empty out the contents of the shopkeeper's chest into your pockets)
