RE:

Yeah, it's not Cain and Co. who are trying to cash in on the engine, it's Interplay! Isn't that the reason why they left Interplay?

No trash-talking, lower-case prone, ignorant, self-centered, 'in-your-face', 'i-am-always-right-so-you-can-suck-my-dick', 'shit-for-brains' idiots allowed.

Two options:

1. Learn the English language.
2. Don't fuck, ever. The possibility of offspring frightens me.

Cats is a sequel to La Bete!

Follows the same logic.

RE: GET A CLUE

My college English 101 prof would have made them wear the dunce cap for this one.

I think Method needs to learn a bit of English or spend a bit more time involved with gaming, literature, and movies to actually understand the definition as applies to the topic at hand.

Otherwise, it smells like an elaborate troll.

RE: GET A CLUE

The first "Sequels"(yes sequels) that I mentioned were direct results of the latter mentioned. i.e.
ID created DOOM and without it there would be NO Quake therefore by definition(BY DEFINITION!) Quake IS as of consequence and/or result of DOOM, a sequel exact.

RE: Get your head out of your ass.

No, you wake up!

Look up the word gay.

The first context should say something along the lines of merriment. Somewhere in the text you should come across "Homosexual" in the same definition.

If I am led to believe that your grasp of the dictionary is correct. "Homosexual" is just to clarify on merriment.

Now look up the word ass. There should be two different definitions, simply because they have two different origins. That is the way the English dictionary is setup.

So in closing, by your understanding, if I were to call the lot of you gay ass holes or gay assholes, not that I'm calling you that because I'm not, it would mean both that you are a bunch of very happy breaks in the ground having something to do with burros and at the same time a bunch of homosexual deviant dolts who have to give someone a hard time because he can use something other than idiot-English.

Now for the LAST time Arcanum is a direct result of Fallout.

RE:

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Mar-02-01 AT 08:32PM (GMT)[p]Exactly, Interplay started being major dicks. The three major programmers of Fallout left and formed Troika c/o Sierra which in turn is a subsidary of GT Interactive a conglomerate of previous European developers. Interplay is owned by Hasbro, an evil evil company that owns every board game and marketable pen and paper RPG in existence. Hasbro probably forced thier inhuman financial expectations on Interplay which in turn made it's way down to a group of great developers who made a "niche" game not meant to be marketed to fifteen year-olds. GT on the otherhand is a lot more interested in making great games. If only they could sue for the Fallout name! I mean Troika(as it is known now) did put an incredible amount more time into the series than anyone left at Black Isle. But those are only pipe dreams!

RE: Get your head out of your ass.

sorry, didnt mean to bash Arcanum, because in fact i'm pretty interested, but i was trying to make the point that just because a game has similar gameplay, plot, items, and an overall feel does NOT, i repeat NOT merit that it is a sequel to that game. And since the makers of games look to other popular games to derive the aspect of that game that made it so popular, I think it is quite possible that the makers of some games looked to Fallout and Fallout 2.

RE: Get your head out of your ass.

The point you are completely missing is how the term sequel applies to literature, movies, games, etc. You're skewing the hell out of this, exactly.

I'm glad you realise how ass and gay can be used differently, and in an how they have specific meanings or definitions when used in certain situations, like insults. Calling someone an ass or gay in a denunciatory manner, it's obvious as to what the usage is. In this case, so does sequel, when dealing with series.

The consequence and result definition of sequel is only referring to sequential circumstances. Cause and effect. "Myself calling you a fool is a sequel to you using the wrong definition as commonly applied to the topic at hand." THAT'S the usage, though it's rather a rather deprecated usage, particularly with the material at hand.

I really like how you backpedalled quickly and chose to redefine what you were saying after someone brought this to your attention. You're playing a nice game of Artful Dodger right now, one that is going to stop because this thread is going to be locked and archived. Don't play a semantic troll again or you're gone.

Oy, vey.

Now just rationalize how Star Wars: Episode I is a sequel to Ice Pirates to a court of law. Won't happen. Why? It's not the definition as applicable.
