Are The Unofficial Patches Worth It?

Yesterday I started a new game with the updated unofficial patch installed. I have Gog Galaxy to play the game on. The patch is supposed to fix a lot of bugs still in the game and correct other errors. Unfortunately, one of the bug fixes from what I have been told is the one that allows your companions, especially Dogmeat and Fawkes to no longer scale with your level in terms of hit points, meaning they will still die easily.

What I want to know from others who have played the game with the unofficial patch, is the patch truly worth it and needed?

All of the Unofficial Patches are required for most mods, and they're insanely good and don't take up much space, so yes, they're worth it.

Fallout 3 is a buggy mess, they're definetly worth it
