It seems that rumours about Obsidian Entertainment developing KOTOR 2 were true. RPGCodex and RPGDot both posted on an article from EGM which contained data about the upcoming sequel to Bioware's monsterhit Knights of the Old Republic. The article, amongst other bits, revealed that Obsidian, the company founded by ex-BISers like Feargus Urquhart and Chris Avallone, is indeed the studio assigned with this big project, and that Chris Avallone is the lead designer

talk about a big undertaking for a newly created studio. Even if they have a lot of big names under their belt, this is really going to set them up for there future. If they do good here they'll be set on a smooth coures... but man, if this goes sour... talk about getting the hate from a big crowd.

Damn, I wish them the best. If it's even half the sweetness that KOTOR 1 was, then the Game Of The Year awards should be flowing in like Mountain Dew. If there is going to be an Xbox version, though, I hope that there aren't any showstopper bugs... Xbox KOTOR 1 had a couple of them...
Still, this is another game to put on the "watch with anticipation" list.

I'd say if they want to make KOTOR 2 they better think out some not-so-linear plot. What we had in KOTOR was simple "go from point A to point B killing everything on your way." After that good graphics alone just wont do.

I generally hope they make the moral choices more complex than the orginial. I thought the Dark Side was meant to be subtle, creaping into people and corrupting them. Instead of such blatent choices (You see a street urchin, do you: A. Give him money and good advice. or B. Kill him).

Not to mention a non-linear plot, Frog.
