Ashes of Apocalypse for Oblivion?

Clone made a newspost on their site with some updates regarding the future plans for the mod:
Development for Ashes of Apocalypse on Morrowind is still going strong. We have toned down some of our goals for it though. The size of the world will be a bit smaller then originally planned. The storyline will focus on playing as a wastelander and standing up against the United Barrier Nations. I will be completely finishing it with a couple of other people and then release it. There may be expansions released for it later on.

The development of Ashes of Apocalypse 2 for Oblivion has begun! We haven't decided on a official name yet but it will be set before the events of Ashes of Apocalypse for Morrowind. Expect more details soon.
For Oblivion, eh? Well, let's hope of the two they're the ones who screw up :D.

I kid, I hope the mod will be good. If you have TES3:Morrowind and some time to kill, you can grab Ashes of Apocalypse 1.0 and the AoA Patch 1.1 from our site.

A medieval knight in a post-apocalyptic world, armed with what looks like a STIHL chainsaw, his backpack full of pirated DVDs and cans of Red Bull?

And here we thought Monty Python references in FO2 were as bad as it got.

Add to whole that the name of that armor and bits of girls underwear in the backpack ... I know something is wrong there ... something terribly wrong

Is this a fake mod? There is no way someone can make something this shitty without pay.

Of course, this development team didn't suck enough Bawls to consider using Chuck's favorite sell-out drink.

They still appear to suck balls, though. The whole "wasteland" thing for AoA was started 2035-2038, so the Red Bullshit logo design and other formats are going to be kept the same for another thirty years? As if DVD and CD-ROM will be in existence then aside from some nostalgia factor like floppy disks have today, which is why Fallout and others have their own media types to explain the divergence in timelines and progression in technology.

Some wasteland. I guess it only means "Hur...hur...things are destroyed and here's a shitload of empty map...enjoy the wasteland with your Red Bull!"

We have toned down some of our goals for it though.

I can't see those goals going any lower than they already have.

We are really making AoA for the players, and listening to all of their thoughts about the development of it is important to us.

I suppose they gave the suggestion for a guard dog with a rocket-propelled grenade fired from its ass a lot of serious consideration as well, given the other absolute crap forum trash has asked them to put into the "game", and they have since obliged...

I dunno I kinda liked it. needs alot more work and the whole sexuality thing needs to be toned down alot. I think it has potential, I reinstalled my Morrowind to try this.

Could use some sort of quest? I couldn't find any I'd just start killing off a whole town.

Less Tatooine more New York.
I seen area's there working on like those turrents surrounding that pit with trenches in it. And some outcropped buildings minus internal and NPC action. I would change this to release-Alpha like 0.5

Its got potential I think. Needs varitey and more wall texture vareity. Looking at nothing but tan gets boring to the eye.

Not sure if it was added but AK47 needs more then a single-shot effect. Needs work, and a project manager to determine which ideas to cut and leave in. Even if this isn't a direct Fallout type of title, theres alot that needs to be changed.

The DVD feature added to it is cool. I liked that. That could give Doom 3's Weapon movies a run for its money if they made movies of vid's for Weapon use. That'd be boss. and they could do mini movies for content related to story. thats nice.

AoA mini review:

Installed it, launched it.

The character creation was more or less the same as in Morrowind. I learned that explosives fall under the 'magic' category, along with many other skills.

Got out into the town thing, outpost 21. The buildings looked okay from a distance, turn into a disgusting pixel mass from up close. Note the brand new 'posters' sticked all around town in random places, most of them having nothing to do with post-apoc scenery. Lots of weird vault-like doors all over the place, yet no signs as to what's inside. I guess it was more important to stick posters than to write a sign as to where the gun shop is.

A man in riot gear-like armor and sci-fi helmet stands in front of me. I try to initiate conversation, but tells me to fuck off. This was probably the best part of the mod.

I get into the bar behind him, where some softcore pron posters hang everywhere. Whenever I try to talk to anyone, they respond with an unanimous 'do you want something?'. In the background, a topless girl jerkily dances around what seems to be a sewage pipe. I exit the bar after noticing an anime poster on the wall.

I find the gun shop, buy a few bullets to my sawed-off shotgun, which seems to fire bullets, for some reason. Oh well. I exit town.

After walking through a wasteland with identical-shaped cactii ( I assume they had some cactus-cloning factory somewhere), I find a building with a poster in cyrillics saying "BIRUS". Intrigued and half expecting to encounter bisexual Russian women, I try the door. Only to find out the door morphs halfway into the apparently brick-sealed doorway. I leave the house with the trapped bisexual women.

Suddenly, something starts running in my direction. "Aha", I think. "The first fight". I ready my shotgun, and see something I should never have seen. The opponent running to me looked like Dove on crack. Fish-net transparent 'shirt', David Bowie hair and all. He starts whacking me with some long, oddly shaped object. Judging from the guy's looks, I probably disturbed him in an autoerotic act with said object. Anyway. After a few seconds, I fire the shotgun at point-blank range, expecting to blow the head off this ridiculous sodomite whacking me with a dildo.

Surprise! Nothing happens. I must have missed. I fire the shotgun multiple times, at a range Ray Charles himself wouldn't have missed. I hit the opponent, but he shrugs off a direct headshot as if I'd had whacked him with the palm of my hand. Eventually, he beats me to death with his post-apocalyptic dildo.

I exit the game and go back to my HoI2 campaign, in which I nuke Nashville.

I'm glad not only that someone played and reviewed it, but it happened to be Wooz who used his usual wit and humor.

I have Marrowind and was actually going to give it a try...though I wonder if the stuff thats missing or seems under-done was just missing and will be implemented later or isnt planned to be in it at all.

Hi there. I'm a new member of the team of Clone Gaming Studios, makers of the Ashes of the Apocalypse for Morrowind and Oblivion.
The team needs people to push the mods forward. If you're skilled with modelling, skinning, etc. please join the AoA project. Let's bring life to another great mods for TES series. :)

WOOZ I can't stop laughing! Best write up since... Ever... Wish I would have spotted this way back when,

You missed this thread.

They did release one version of their Morrowind mod and a patch, you can find on various Morrowind mod databases or on our file section.

Oblivion was out by the time their Morrowind mod reached it's first release, they decided to switch to creating an Ashes of Apocalypse mod for that game. Quickly after that decision, the mod team decided to develop their own independent game instead. They disappeared completely soon after that, I assume their attempts met with failure.

If you want to find out anything more concrete than that, you might have more success with the Morrowind/Oblivion modding communities; we never had all that much to do with Ashes of the Apocalypse. Perhaps some of the team members are still around those communities and could give you the full tale of what transpired.
