Asked to leave freaks outside????

Hi all
The problem im having is when i go to talk to Lou in the redding, malamute bar she asks me to leave my freaks outside? i have three pals cassidy, vic and sulik i make them wait outside and she still wont talk to me its the same with other salloons wat freaks is she talking about!?
 
She usually tells you that if you have Goris, Marcus, Lenny, Brainbot or any of the four dogs in your party - anyone who's not human, that is. Make sure that Cassidy, Vic and Sulik are your only party members.
Although, it's pretty weird that she still won't talk to you.
 
Would they not be on screen or stuck somewhere? The only people i can see with me are those 3.i have the updated 1.02d version.

Is there a unofficial patch to fix this?
 
Hmm... Well there is a check for what the game deems "strange creatures" in your party. It checks for the following NPCs in your party

Marcus
Lenny
Cyberdog
Goris
Laddie
Robobrain

Out of curiosity, what happens when you speak with Josh, the owner of the Last Gasp Saloon?
 
The guy at last gasp says the same thing "i dont serve there kind here" there is definetly no other team mates appart from the 3 i mentioned is it possible the i cant see them? i went as far as to go onto the world map chose a random spot and shoot dead all my team mates and i still get the same response.

Well, that's the thing I need to test. However, have you told any of the above NPCs to wait somewhere?
 
well i dont think so the only one of those that i even know of is laddie in (save the boy from the well) but i never asked the dog to join and it didnt follow me out of modoc.

Ok. Found some stuff.

Like I suspected, the game thinks Laddie is in your party. I went back to Modoc and spoke with Balthas. I guess you told him his kid died? I then went to the Ghost Farm and went to the lake area where Johnny is. Laddie ran up to Johnny. I then proceeded to finish the quest with Johnny. Went to Redding and Lou did not complain. I then checked Laddie's script and the dog is only removed from your party once you finish the quest. As soon as you enter the lake map, a variable is set for Laddie which makes the dog invisible on all maps but the lake map. Thus, until you have brought Johnny home, you have an invisible dog following you around and taking up a companion slot.

To fix your current problem, I suggest going back to the Ghost Farm and bringing Johnny home for real. For the future, I have edited the Laddie's script and made Laddie abandon you as soon as the dog sees Johnny at the lake. This makes sense and I don't know what reason the original devs had for making the dog invisible (and following you around) until you finish the quest.

This is actually something that's in my guide notes, but I hadn't really examined the effects yet.

Isn't it so that Laddie will be back in Modoc playing with Johnny later? If he abandons you at the lake, he'll stay there.

I Found laddie and killed him ...her? that fixed the problem didn't like the idea of finishing a quest i needed help to find. maybe next time ill replay it.Till then i have a world to be emersed in thanks again killap you made me a very happy chap :)
