Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Any tried the demo? It's pretty fun. It has a lot of 1-ups on CoD, mainly that there are vehicles, squads, and some really neat stuff that makes your classes' unique unlike in CoD where it is just what kind of gun you have equipped.

But what's up with the tiny font? I can barely read anything. It's almost as bad as Dead Rising.

Infinitely better then MW2. If not only because MW2 in its current state is a broken frustrating mess. I finally just had to give up on the game because of the epic failure that is host mitigation.

BC2 is just more busy as well. Where as MW2 you are either run and gunning or camping in this you have so many more options. For the most part playing my demo I devoted myself to an anti-vehicle role. I love that little tracer dart, shooting down the Apache with a guided RPG as ridiculous as that seems is a lot of fun.

The UAV is also fun, I spent an entire match hovering above the helicopter spawn point camping people as they tried to fly away in it.

Yes, it is fun using the UAV. Except when three dumbasses are clusterfucking around it, waiting for the guy to get off instead of doing something. I usually just blow the damn thing up if that happens.

Also, WTF is with EA and that tiny-ass high-def fonts? I downloaded the Dante's Inferno demo and that has tiny font too.

I do like it, but there are some annoyances.

I would've been alot happier if they hadn't have put in the regenerative health system, I dislike the *clickKNIFE* thing and would've been a bit happier with still being able to actually carry your knife, same thing for grenades, with the first BC I wouldn't fumble the controls and waste a grenade by accident since it was a carried weapon, but on occasion I'll forget that what used to be cycle items is now only the throw grenade button.

Outside of that though, there's not too much I can think of to nit-pick about, pretty fun.

The demomap favors sniping over aggresive attacking/defending a bit too much for my taste, otherwise OK.

I fucking hate sniping in video games. I can see when it comes in handy (defending a spot and what not) but you get 6 people thinking they are the shit and run around lone-wolfing, ignoring objectives. Happens all the time in Call of Duty MW 2.

Me: "Hey, stop sniping and get that flag or we lose."
Them: "Shut up fag, I can quick scope."
*Round Over. Spetznaz wins.*
Me: "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT FUCK YOU"

As a big BF2 fan, i have very mixed opinions on the gun handling. I'm not sure i like the change to a more MW2-esqe style as far as recoil is concerned, but i've bought the game anyway to support dedicated servers and well. It looks fucking pretty. I'll give it a go to see what i think.

I've been playing the demo on and off again since it came out and I'm not really impressed. It's definitely a major improvement over Bad Company 1, but still one thing that DICE/EA needs to address is the major lag spikes. Other than that it seems ok, may pick it up when it's been reduced in price later this year.

Bought BC2 on Steam yesterday. I'm a little bit disappointed first of all because of the connection issues. Right now it's a gamble, 80% of the time you either can't connect to a server or the game crashes while conneting.

Also, I hoped the gameplay would be a little bit more like AA3, but it's quite run-n-gun. The destructive environment also seems to have been reduced a lot in multiplayer and is not as fun and important as in the SP campaign, which is sad. I hate the UAVs, they are just annoying and should not have been put in the game at all. Love the sound though. This game has probably the most realistic sound I've ever heard in an FPS.

All in all it's still fun and I'm going to play some more later tonight, but it's not worth the insane 49,99 euros they charge for it. Its value is 20-25 euros at best.

Edit: Well, looks like the problem is worse now. I'm sitting here like an idiot with a 50 euro game that won't let me log into it and connect to servers anymore. Does anyone know if it's possible to get refunds on Steam or exchange the game for another one?

They're taking things down to fix problems from what I've heard, so eh, what's awful now may be much better a bit later.

Yeah, they've been saying that ever since release date. I doubt they're going to fix anything.

New update went up today which apparently fixes most of it.

On another note, its a fun enough game, but im ditching it for BF3 when it comes out. The gun handling and some of the class merges kill it for me.

Does Bad Company 2 worth buying? i mean i dunno which one to pick:

-Napoleon Total War
-C&C4
-Bad Company 2
or
-GTA Episodes from Liberty City

all are coming out in march and for PC.... please help me guys :?

Too bad the Steam version hasn't received any updates at all.

NO! Stay away from it if you want to use the multiplayer feature. You're going to regret buying it as soon as you experience the connection issues. Here's a video that shows what the multiplayer gameplay is like:

Oh, and did I mention the cheaters? Man...if you play this game online, be prepared to die in ways you never thought possible.

Its weird your having so many issues. What country do you live in?

As an aussie i've had minimal connection problems. A few here and there, but nothing major. I also haven't seen any cheaters = /

I personally think its worth the 60 bucks i paid for it.

Cheaters are those people who punish you for running out in the open shooting your gun in the sky while you scream at the top of your lungs that you are the Banana man.

I on the other hand will be going back to playing Bad Compant 2.....Right now!
