Best companion equipment?

As the title says, suggest the best outfit combinations for our lovely companions.

Having stuck with Veronica for some time, I've decided that the best weapon for here is the ballistic fist. Apart from taking advantage of her natural gift for punching stuff, it simply looks hilarious when she punchsplodes everything in her way, sending the victim flying.

Now I'm running around the place with Arcade. He's awesome, easily my favourite NPC. He's great with a Gauss rifle, though I can't get him to equip any other energy weapon except for his Glock 86.

ED-E and Boone, while Boone get's the Anti-Materiel rifle. It just goes boom, boom, boom and everyone around you is falling to ground.

Arcade is my absolute fav of all companions. In my second playthrough, I've run into freeside as soon as possible, just to get him early, so he can comment on everything that I am doing. As equiment, I gave him a combat armor reinforced mk1 (soon I will give him the mk2 version) and a plasma caster (needs to be in good condition or he will not take it). But even without the plasma caster, his generic weapon is pretty good against many foes, so I'll guess he mainly just needs a good armor.

Yea I find he doesen't really need a gun as his one kicks ass. Trying to get his companion quest at the moment and upgrade his armour a bit with it but the damn thing won't trigger.

Marksman Carbine/All-American with dirt-cheap surplus ammo for Cass.
Later Sniper/Gobi rifle for her or Boone.
Sniper Rifle, with its ridiculous critical multiplier and, IMO, the best hand-made ammo (JSP), is simply the best weapon, even at close range. Well, with cowboy, Brush Rifle may be better in some situations...

I'm having great difficulty deciding between Cass and Arcade, and I'm currently just taking my time with Arcade until his personal quest unlocks. Although I do love Boone's spotter perk, but after having already gone back to Bitter Springs there's not too much more personality wise that he can offer.

I'm too selfish to give Boone the Gobi sniper rifle but bought him his own anti-materiel rifle once I had the caps He was wearing power armour for a little while which surprised me, but I've now taken it back and awaiting PA training at Hidden Valley.

Cass is currently kicking some serious arse with her Marksman Carbine, and also has a spare sniper rifle and 12.7mm pistol should she run out of ammo. She wears the Van Graff black combat armour as a sign of us, ahem, making those bitches eat their hair.

Arcade carries all my energy weapons but seemed to spray his Plasma Caster shots all over the place. Had to take it off him and he does well with the Tri-Beam. I equip him with Reinforced Combat Armour and he just looks ridiculous in a Clark-Kent-face-but-with-Superman-outfit-on kinda way. Giving him a bandana made me laugh.

Veronica looks really sweet in Combat Armour Mk II, I find. The whole brown-grey colour scheme matches her hood and everything She cuts sick with the Ballistic Fist and Punchy.

Raul and Lily I haven't spent time with at all.

Stuck mostly with Veronica and ED-E. As mentioned, Veronica's very good with ballistic fist. Later I gave her super sledge. Also, equipped her with Remnants PA as I prefer t-51b with higher rad resistance.

Had to switch from ED-E to Rex because of the ED-E bugs. Rex with Violetta's brain was extremely good at knocking down the opponents. And along with Veronica they've done great at holding the opponents while I was headshooting

Also, had Arcade with me for some time before he left for the final battle. Couldn't make him use any energy weapon instead of his. And equipped him with combat armor II (Boone, Cass and Raul too when had them with me).
Should definetely pick him for the next walkthrough as soon as possible.

Couldn't make Boone use Gobi rifle for some reason.

Boone with a Gaussrifle is nice. Or a sniper. At times I never even see the enemy before it goes to a suprise-killcam due to him. ED-E is a obvious supplement to Boone with the large radar-radius. But I found that annoying, having to kill every creep in the desert before fastravel came available.

So I accidently blew it up, oh well.
Rex is also a good sidekick to Boone, if you also play sniper - use the stupid dog as a decoy while you and Jason Statham-Boone take headshots from a hill.

man your guys companions are so equipped! Is the balistic fist a better power fist or the same thing? After 40 odd hours of playing, I need to turn fast travel back on, all my weapons are garbage.

Boone: Hunting Rifle w/ quick action bolt. Some clothes.

Cass: .223 pistol/Varmint Rifle and her vanilla outfit.

Veronica: Power Fist / 12ga Hunting Shotgun extended tube and some kick ass venemous armor from a mod.

Buddy(me): A katana and a 6 string. A suit. The Suit i modified in a 5 minute retexture job so his shoes are black/white and not turd brown anymore.

Is the balistic fist a better power fist or the same thing?

It's much more powerful and quite hard to get your hands on, but absolutely worth it for unarmed fighters
