Best level up areas.

I made the mistake of leveling up too quickly early on. I didnt take into consideration NPCs. So now I am level 29 with Cassidy, Vic, and Sulik all levelled out. I got Brainbot about a level ago and am now starting to see the value of Marcus. If had the patience to start a new game, I would have hooked up with Marcus right away and gotten the Brainbot earlier. The problem with the robot is that you need to have a high science, so you I wouldnt have got him anyway.

Anyway, I have thrown Vic and Sulik to the curb for now to try and level up Marcus and Brainbot. Which areas offer the most Exp? Around SF is ok, but I seem to remember somewhere around Modoc has caves with easy deathclaws.

Places to easily level up? The Tarant sewer system.



Oh wait. That's another game, innit?
You should simply travel around and get the most out of all the random encounters. A couple of Enclave Patrols should boost your experience, I guess.
I've never bothered to actually go out and hunt for XPs. IIRC, your party will level up quite nicely if you just keep on playing the game the way it should be played.

The desert between SF and NCR has the most deathclaw and centaur encounters as far as I know. The contents of caves are not location-specific.

Regarding XP-farming in Fallout 1...

Dumdidum, nothing to see here, no faulty post or anything, especially not any misinterpretations regarding XP-farming in Fallout 1. All is well. :,)

I did a lot of leveling up north of SF, If memory serves me a swarm of floaters gets you more exp than centaurs.

generally anywhere near SF but not close enough to get low exp encounters like hubologists worked fine for me.

The Death Claw wannabees are relatively easy to kill and give 250 EXP per kill. They can be found in caves quite often.

around SF is my best guess. SOme people get annoyed with the fire geckos though, but i personally like to kill them with an easy eye-shot ;D

The strip of Desert that goes between SF/NCR and all the way up to Redding. Avoid the mountains themselves as they seem to be packed with Fire Geckos.

Basiclly you are after: Centaurs>Deathclaws>Aliens in that preference. Floaters give lots of exp but are a pain to kill, fire geckos are nasty and don't give much exp.
