I can understand the low reviews for the English version. The translation and voiceovers don't even come close to the original in terms of the athmosphere. Still, probably the most 'immersive' recent game =)

Anachronox; Who wouldn't like an intro where the protagonist gets beat up and still shows his overconfidence after that. Also, I just like Boots and Fatima together.

I always thought Westwood made good intros without the usage of video footage. If I was to pick one good intro, it would be this one:

This intro blew my mind back when the game was new. In the 15 years that have passed, it's the only thing still worth mentioning about the game. I'm mostly posting it to show you how far we've come in terms of game intros.

Vagrant Story for the PSX. A dungeoncrawler with a twist. Your weapons only worked good against certain monster i.e undead,ghost,dragons....You had to switch weapons to fight different races of monsters. Story was excellent. I recommend it.
