Blood instead of items?

I recently purchased the $9.99 fallout/fallout 2 package, and have had a lot of fun playing fallout. Today, for something new I thought I would try fallout 2.

Things are harder, but still fun, but finally I thought maybe things were too hard and I read the first part of a walkthrough. The walkthrough mentioned dead bodies with loot, but in my game dead bodies with look appear as pools of blood with no loot.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm obviously not too far into the game, so this has only happened in Klammoth. Want specifics? The body that is said to have a pistol near the rat god and the two bodies near the helicopter type thing.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas what to do?

You know, that is strange. Normally, the dead bodies that you've made (heh) are supposed to disappear over time. Sometimes, if you land a right hit with an energy weapon, they disintergrate on the spot.

But that's not supposed to happen for the dead bodies placed on the map. I have no other suggestion besides (sigh) reinstalling the game again.

Well, it sometimes does happen but it only happens if you entered the certain area, left (for healing, selling, buying, etc) and came back again.

Well, that could certainly have been the case in these areas. In at least one of them I'm sure I bravely ran away before I saw the pools of blood.

Do I just reinstall?

I wouldn't bother, those bodies aren't extraordinarily useful anyway.

I've had the same problem with the body near the Rat God. Don't know what it is, even if I go directly for it, he only seems to be there 50% of the time.

Don't worry about it. It only happens in Klamath, to my experience, and most dead bodies that are already there have no real purpose (except later, not going to spoil anything).

The only problem with dissappearing body's I had was in Broken Hills. (missing a quest when you don't get the letter...)
