i think it would be cool if you cut of an enemys arm. You would se him run away and leving a bloodtrail so if you end combat, you could track him down.
and if you didnt do it in time he would bleed to death, depends on how critcal the damage would have been.

PS. sorry about the writing (im from Norway)

I dunno, the shock from losing his arm might kill him; or at least make him pass out.

it has happen many times that peapole have lost an arm or a hand and they have still been abel to run a wery long distance before they have died.

I don't think they'd get too far. After all, that's an exposed artery spurting blood out at a fairly good amount. Running would only increase the heart rate, and the blood would be escaping much faster.

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Aug-27-00 AT 09:43AM (GMT)[p]You do have right there but say, you sever his arm and he panics and run he could get some distance avway from you before he dies ,the adrenalin would also help alot.
If he then fall behind a wall you couldent se him and he would not show up on a motion detector.
that would result in you losing perhaps a cool gun or som experience points.

You dont have to shoot off someones arm or leg for them to bleed. Any type of wound that breaks the skin will bleed. So if you shoot them in the arm or the leg or what ever and they run away it should leave a blood trail.

Adrenaline isn't going to make much of a difference since your blood is going to be thinning rapidly due to losses. The average human body pumps blood at a rate of 5 liters/min.. And holds 5.7liters of blood.

Adrenaline will actually cause blood loss to increase initially, but with the loss of blood, the heart will start slowing as the energy fixing rate of the muscle tissue will drop due to the lack of oxygen/CO2 transporting.

But say if shot of an enemys arm and the hit have been fatal and he have had a bozar. If he then have goten away and died behind a wall it would still be easier to find him.
Also if the maps are so large as said by interplay ,it could be many hidingplaces on such a map.
ps when i mean cuting of a arm i dont mean by the shoulder
