Fallout 1 mod Book prices in The Hub (Stapleton).

Right. I have Fallout Fixt installed. that's all. Book prices are at a low. Science book is usually at 4000 caps, from what I remember, but now at 740 in my current run. I haven't put a single point into Barter and have the absolute minimal Charisma, and a restarted test Max Stone had a higher Barter than my current character, but still prices were actually higher for him, but still lower than I'd expect. 2222 caps.

Is it my karma playing into it? What am I doing right, so to speak? Is it even a Fixt thing? Books usually cost a ton of cash in my earlier runs.

Look Fo1 Barter formula is fucked to the brim, you literally could ripoff/shoplift every shop in fo1 with minimal to no skill investment.. it's simply wrong..

the second problem: You speak about the obsolete falloutFIXT which nobody gives a damn anymore, since there are newer and more flexible alternatives ( including Fo1 being ported to Fo2 engine).. so don't expect anyone to kneel ver this problem, since Fo1 players are concentrated around Fallout EtTu rather than FIXT..

FIXT author is MIA, and no one else bothers with it. on the other hand EtTu is still actively developed ( though most of what was to be done was done already, hence the minimalistic updates in new versions).

as For your point of interest EtTu devs did fix the barter formula in EtTu, and it's now generallly harder to buy stuff, as only killian is now shopliftable ( with decent sneak and steal
