Building A Squad

Phil the Nuka-Cola Dude

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
Im trying to put together a good assault team(Im not a fan of sneaking because i use power armor)and i would like to know whether this is good for later in the game or not, and please feel free to include your own builds and a bit of info about them i.e; traits, perks, stats and the like. Please make these strictly human builds. Also i have heard that female characters are better in battle, is this true?

Now heres mine...

Snake-Assault
Small guns/Heavy weapons/Energy Weapons
Fast shot/Gifted

Farsight-Sniper/Lockpick

Stitch-Medic/Energy Weapons/Trader

And two more heavy weapons people.

You'll only be able to get your hands on Power Armour during late midgame, so investing in Sneak is not wasted at all. And even then you can still put your PA in your inventory and keep sneaking (which is still very handy during some robot missions).

Female characters have a slight advantage on the battlefield because they are more slim than males and therefore can crawl through small gaps and such, but this only works on certain maps. It is handy to have a female sniper around for that matter. But females aren't better at combat if that is what you're hinting at.

Good characters: Rage (because he has the Awareness perk and because he has great stats which enable you to make him one hell of a good soldier), Rebecca (she has Lockpick tagged, so you don't need to invest in that skill, and she has similar stats as Rage), Farsight (she'll become one hell of a good sniper if you give her the good perks) and so on.

A good auxiliary skill is Throwing, because grenades are pretty good in FOT.

Good perks? Sharpshooter, Bonus Rate of Fire, Bonus Ranged Damage, More criticals, Sniper, Mutate! (which enables you to give your squadies the Gifted perk and thus raise all their stats!), Silent Running (good for sneakers), Tunnel Rat (good for snipers and sneakers).

Thanks alec for posting such an organized guide. Im going to test out Rage and Rebecca, and im probably going to make throwing weapons tagged on one of my chars(I wasnt sure nades could stand up to deathclaws and muties, so i never tagged before). Also thanks for the PA in the inventory trick, im probably going to tag sneak as well on my main char. And although Todo makes a valid point, im a vet of Fo1&2 and im not too good at tactics so any help is welcome.
