A guy gets so mad with his hometown that he builds a fully armored tank (with gun turrets!) out of a bulldozer and goes on a grand-theft-auto-like destruction rampage.

I couldn't find it online, but the video footage i saw on TV was crazy.
 
This would be considered a pretty weird occurance in Colorado would it? South Park can rip it off. It seems a bit excessive for losing your temper. It would be much easier to just go and hunt down everyone on foot. It is obviously very premeditated so I think he was less likely a lone nut, and more likely a lonely nut wanting attention or fame.

it is actually a kind of cool thing to do when you think about it... except the dying part.. and he must have done some decent work with the armor plating, if the officers needed a day to open that thing with explosives (never heard of welding?)

This is not just someone going nuts, this guy must have spent several days or weeks planning this assault, armouring the bulldozer, finishing the hit list, ...

Great stuff. Tearing down half his hometown because people pissed him off. Without killing anyone (!). This is the stuff most of my dreams are made off. I just don't have a bulldozer... :twisted:
 
This reminds me of another incident in which a guy somehow managed to steal a tank from a nearby national guard base or something, and then proceeded to drive around destroying things. He eventually made it onto the highway, but got hung up on the median. The police jumped on top and fired shots into the cab, killing the guy.
 
Damn police. Why do they always have to shoot to kill? We had a tragic event when a nutjob with a knife was on Bondi Beach swearing at everyone in French. He was surrounded by some cops (who happened to be high on amphetamines) for half an hour and when he lunged they all blasted him. Why has nobody thought of aiming for the legs or zapping them or whatever? It seems so tragic and unneccessary.
 
I wish my friends and I had several tanks like that one. It would be awesome for roleplaying.

because we are way too lazy to plan all this shit out and to turn our bulldozers into tanks...

Because most people (including myself, to be honest) are scared shit to loose what little they have: their tv's, for instance, or their mediocre lives, or their new cars, or their 9 to 5 labour camp jobs.

And because most people (including myself, to be honest yet again) are scared shit of what their neighbours might think of them when they pull off a stunt like that.

It should happen more often, though. I think a lot of people feel like doing stuff like this (I know I do)... But it's time-consuming, n'est-ce pas? And you would have to sacrifice your life as well, methinks, because if the coppers grab your ass, you're teh shit. No doubt about that.
