Looks like when the going gets tough the comanche gets going. :roll: It is a superb peace of machinery, but unmanned aircraft seems to be the wave of the future and they would reduce casualty rates. The world moves on and so must we.
 
Unmanned aircraft may or may not be the wave of the future, but right now, the technology is not nearly up to par. The commanche would have been an excellent addition to the military, but for probably very logical reasons, the program was cancelled. Not to mention that development costs were ridiculous.
I just want a next-generation fighter/bomber. The F-22 is an improvement, but I want to see radical improvements.
 
The politicians know what they are doing, right? I mean they wouldn't make a choice just to keep their fat asses comfortable and firmly planted on their chairs... Remember why the calculator from Vault Zero (Tactics) malfunctioned? What was it that they replaced the back-up systems of the calculator with? Leisure facilities by any chance? :lol:
So why shouldn't we trust them?

Foe the record they are not named after victims of colonization but rather named after powerful symbols. The Kiowa, Comanche, etc were all proud, fierce and noble peoples, and naming weapons of war after them is meant in homage.

However it's ironic that they also mean what Wooz said.
 
Nobody seems to have pointed out that the Commanche Helicopter program was killed because the damn thinng was next to impossible to keep airborne (dont know if that was in the fox news report though, Just what i heard from a few commanche mechanics i met)

Either way, I say we've still got the chinook, If they'd just modify all of them to the Ah47 (or MH47) model (ie, stick a shitload of rockets and guns on it) we'd have no need for a new attack helo.
 
I think we're forgetting that we still have things like the Apache program. They're still the most formidable helicopters out there.

"Expansion" is a very nice euphemism. While colonialism isn't the exact word I was looking for, "expansion" is too mild a word to name a genocide.

I'm not exactly proud of what my country did, it was a bad thing, but someone was going to do it sooner or later. The Spanish were already well on their way, the French too (parts of Canada and Lousiana), the Russkies had Alaska.

Wooz, I'm part Indian (native American), about 10%, so I don't really care if the Army decided to name some helicopter Cherokee or Eskimo. Hell, I'd be more proud, the #1 military in the world is naming a helicopter after my heritage! Rock on!

How can you be 10% Native American?
I mean, it goes 100% ->50% ->25% -> 12.5% ->6.25% etc...
(Also any combination of those (ie: 75%))
 
I don't know the exact percentage number qualification thingy, it was just a guess. But it is around there, since I'm mostly Italian with some German, Turkish, and a little bit of Cherokee and Eskimo with a bit of Greek.
