Cant wait for Fallout Las Vegas

It's damn great.

KOTOR2 is, hands down, the best Star Wars game to come out in the past years, especially with the TSLRP, which makes it look as Mister Chris Avelone (MHLF) intended it to.

Sure, their games might not be technically groundbreaking, but I don't care about bugs or graphics long as it has a good story.

I'm a story whore and I say it with pride. Graphics are fleeting, sound relative, but stories and writing remain immortal.

I read a quote today, which I cannot seem to locate but it fits well with what you're saying here and I agree full heartedly. In essence, it said that the graphics devised by a brilliant programmers today, in five years with Moore's Law being what it is, will be obtainable with only competent programmers. Conversely, art... written word, does not have the same problem. While video game technology progressively and constantly becomes obsolete in face of new technologies, works of art, such as the story of KOTORII, Fallout, Half-Life, or even (long reach) the book "Dirty Hands" by Sartre never become obsolete in face of new books, or stories. Mass Effect did not make KOTOR's story obsolete no more than "The Phantom Menace" made "A New Hope" obsolete. So, I have to agree and vindicate your statements here.

Also, RPG's are much better for storytelling than first person shooters are since they (should) draw you in and make you care about the story and its characters. However, I don't think that a RPG needs to be turn based since I love some fast paced action that a FPS provides.

Like FO3 is a good FPS...

It's not.

FO3 is a crappy FPS and a crappy RPG at the same time. It shines at being crappy at both accounts - and this is the only place where it shines.

If I want a story-driven FPS - there are some games like Quake 4, Half Life 2 or whatever. Where the action is fast and you need to aim fast, maneuver fast, jump/duck/shoot and so on. There is no cheating like VATS. And if I my aim is good - I'm sure about results. No need to guess "my 4th shot in his head failed because my character sucks at shooting or because *I* suck at shooting?"

Fo3 is an interactive movie for those who can't play FPS and still want some "action" (anyone here who remembers "Rebel Alliance" by Lucas Arts?). A movie with a pretty boring story, if you ask me.
