Is this for the savegame edit? If so, which proto is it? Because if it's proto #89 in the proto/critters directory, offset 27 is not 43.
It's for both the #89 base proto from master.dat and for the one in your saveagame slot. You need to unpack (gzip) the protofile that is in your save first - which you would have known if you read the whole thread. :)
 
Yup. You need 7zip or WinZip(i think) to do this. Just right click the proto file and choose "7zip" or Archive options, i don't rightly know what it's called. then you should be able to open it like a normal archive. drag the file in the archive out to some folder, edit it and then put it back in the archive. I just had to do this on Vic because the bastard won't level up right.
 
Ah, I thought that was just for the one in the master.dat. Haha, boy is my face red then. :O

EDIT: Changing the proto in that way appears to have broken the savegame. Fortunately I made a backup of the proto just in case something like that happened, and loading the backup proto saved the, er, savegame.
