Changing Traits (Sex Appeal -> Night Person)

Neuromancer

First time out of the vault
i have read in a FAQ that perks (and traits too i think) are hardcoded into the exe.
what i would realy like to do is that add the Night Person in Fallout 2 into the place of Sex appeal, as i realy like that trait in FO1.
would this be possible without messing up the code? as i think if both games are based on the same engine it would be a very hard to do copy-paste but i think it wouldnt be completely impossible

I had exactly this idea long ago. Traits are indeed hardcoded and can`t be altered without editing the engine. Unfortunately all I could figure out is this:
1. I know offsets that contain .FRM indexes for pictures to use for traits (numbers from the .LST file). So I managed to return the Night Person art back.
2. We`ll also have to edit all scripts that contain a check for sex appeal.

hmmm, if there are scripts that check for sex appeal, then how about just putting Night person into some other trait`s place that doesnt check for night person, some that just gives plain bonuses/weaknesses
that would make it possible to avoid messing with scripts

Hehe, in this case it just won`t be "replacing Sex Appeal with Night Person" ;)

There were a couple of unused perks/traits which is how the pilot perk was made for the vertibird mod (so I've been told)

hehe, for the first time i thought putting it into that perks place would be easier because it hasn`t got any direct modifiers
