Chris Kohler not impressed with Oblivion

if they cant get loading on the fly working then its going to frustrate me to no end and im going to quit playing it like i did morrowind.

3 gigs of ram which i could pull out 2 sticks and not notice a difference and if this fucking game does the same shit which this reviewer said it had... fuck beth.

Suppose Fallout 3 shouldn't have deathclaws. They are SO the last generation. Signeon, your argument is higly flawed.

How is it flawed? The games in the Fallout series are the only games that have deathclaws, but almost every single game out there has rats in it. I think that if we're moving into a next-gen era, regardless of system, devs should start thinking outside of the box a little bit, and not conform to "beating a dead horse" systems.

But this is general gaming, not Fallout discussion, so I'm done with the FO talk.

the biggest thing that would stop me from buying oblivion once it hits the 30$ price mark is if its like 4-8 cds rather than a single DVD.

i have decided im going to STOP buying all these fucking games where i have to swap CDs all the time.

NWN Plat had single DVD.

Fear directors edition is single DVD.

why the hell are all these games on multiple CDs still?

dungeon siege 2, AOE 3, BFME2, Stronghold 2, Gothic 2, Serious Sam 2....

im not going to buy another one.

I hear ya. Oblivion "Requires" a 8X dvd rom so it will be dvd.

...and Psychonauts.

The answer is consumer stupidity. The majority of them own CD-ROM drives, but not DVD drives. And despite all packaging for games clearly saying it contains a DVD, people who only own CD-ROM drives still buy them.

Later, they return the game to the shop because it doesn't work!!

This is the official response from Croteam as to why Serious Sam 2 was shipped on CD-ROMS in the US, but on DVD's in Europe. Psychonauts was also released on CD-ROMS in the US, but on a DVD in Europe.

Beginning to see a pattern here?

I guess this is another moment where the peoples of the world roll their eyes and sigh:

*Americans*
