Gaming Illustrated have interview good old Chuckie about Fbos and it warms my heart to hear that skills like Bargaining Power, endbosses and a world where the Brotherhood is
The Brotherhood of Steel is a society of post-apocalyptic knights, the unofficial law enforcers in a world where there are no laws.
Erm..Law enforcers? Here's a nice little quote:
PC fans love the Fallout series for the style inherent in the universe – a grim post-apocalyptic setting with touches of humor around the edges. Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is a balls-out action game that offers console gamers a taste of that loveable wasteland world, where life is hard, mutation is rampant, and the closest thing to law and order is the fusion-powered pistol that you carry on your hip.
or should that have been "a sell-out action game"?

This sentence makes no sense whichever way twist it.

"They water-carriers in a world with no water!"

"They're gun slingers in a world with no guns!"

"They're dog-lovers in a world with no dogs!"

See the problem in all these sentences?

Double Exculsions

....the unofficial law enforcers in a world where there are no laws. ........

We can roll this verbage in several, differing colors of papers and smoke out an ""illusion of clarity"".

But I prefer the implied double negitive, or rather the double exclusion. An ''"unoffical law"' fits quite well in a world of ""no laws"". But, but again, the intent may be the clash of opposites.

Dramatic posturing to pent up out latent frustrations, only to be requiented by the shiny amour, or armour of this 'once and future' FO:BOS. Needlessly messianic, but , but again the dramatic tension is
smouldering in the back seat. And perhaps is our last chance for a touch of 'romantic' narrative before the ''balls'' are pulled ''out ''. Is that a ''fusion powered pistol'' in your pocket or are you happy to see me.......

Whatever the dynamic tension makes wet with anticipation, only time can tell.

'Grade School'? I'm not familiar with that term, but perhaps you are aware of the term 'sarcasm'?

Some interesting quotes:
Interviewer said:
... very few games presented a more gripping atmosphere than the Fallout series, thanks mostly to its badass setting and open-ended gameplay.

Chucky said:
The base story in F:BoS is fairly linear

Well, of the things that Fallout can mostly thank, that's one thing lost from the equation.

Chucky said:
Side quests in F:BoS range from the more up front and involved – being asked to locate a decaying ghoul’s missing body parts, scattered throughout the second chapter – to the little things that you can discover along the way – a computer console which, when destroyed, will open a secret room where you can find a unique experimental weapon.
We should create a FO:BOS hints 'n tips section. Just string together quotes from every interview Chucky has ever given and I'm sure it'd just about cover every single quest in the game.

Each of the player characters possesses different starting strengths and limitations. Nadia, for instance, is very mobile and excels in the use of ranged weaponry (can even use dual pistols), but can’t use some of the really huge weapons. Cyrus, on the other hand, hits hard in melee combat and can haul around a 200 lb gun, but isn’t as quick on his feet, nor is he ambidextrous. <snip> For instance, Cyrus can improve his combat efficacy with home-made weapons using the “Wastelander” skill.
Translation: You can whack stuff with different weapons. Play ALL the characters to whack lots of stuff with a wide range of weapons. Then whack yourself off to all the girls!

The environment can also play a big part in combat, as mentioned above. Strategically placed explosive barrels are always fun to shoot.
It's a re-incarnation of some kids Doom level!! You know "tihs si my first level OMFG i hoep u liek all teh explosiv barruls everywhere hyuk hyuk hyuk!"

Chucky said:
When you go to target mode, the system chooses the target that’s nearest to the direction you’re facing, also taking distance from target into account. This might not be the target you want to attack immediately, so the player can switch targets by pressing another button, using the same system to determine the next most viable target. It’s a pretty standard system for picking your targets of those that are available on screen, and effective if you want to concentrate your attacks on a single target at a time.
A pretty standard system? But I thought this was a key revolutionary feature!!

I am impressed though, Chucky didn't mention the prostitues at all! That's a first for him!

There’s also lots of little side things for the player to access through talking to NPC’s. These also range in scale from gaining access to a gladiator pit where you can fight opponents for money to threatening someone just enough to make him simply empty his wallet into your hands.

Didn't Chuck say at some point or other that there were going to be about 15 characters with dialogue? (A rhetorical question meaning yes.) I wonder if there's always only one character that you can do the stuff described above to, or if they actually nudged the number upwards (I'm just a hopeless optimist...).

P.S.: Why the fuck does a ghoul want his fallen-off (= probably dead) hand back so desperately, especially if it's being eaten by insects in another town?

He could have an itch..

I thought the interview the usual funny blurbs from Chuckie and it still amazes me that Chuckie is trying to sell it, it's like peddling crap.

Then why doesn't he just yank an arm off another ghoul? :)
